Expanded California Assault Weapon Ban Leaves Thousands Of Gun Owners In Limbo « CBS San Francisco
There are thousands if not tens of thousands of legally owned ARs in California right now. Beginning January 1st 2018 an AR with a bullet button is either going to have to be modified or registered with the state to remain legal. The problem is you can’t even register an AR right now.
“They don’t know how to implement these laws,” said Craig Deluz with the Firearms Policy Coalition, a group that lobbies for gun owner rights in California. He says the new law requires the Department of Justice to come up with new regulations before it can open up an electronic registration system. But so far the agency has failed to do that. That’s leaving law abiding gun owners who want to register but can’t in a Catch 22.
And this idiotic change in law impedes criminals how? you cannot punish a criminal who fails to register a firearm he possess, that was set forth in a 1968 supreme court case which is still good case law
Also are just supposed to not notice that this is an example of government failing to work?
Trump is far from the only reason government is increasingly a joke.
Poor quality people, doing bad work.
bannerrhoid politicians whose motivations are dishonest
I still don't get how states can do such bans since the second amendment applies to states.

It's probably intentional. If you have to register your AR but there is no mechanism to register it then, by default, you are guilty of not registering. I know it sounds crazy but it's CA and they're known for crazy. They're the state that prohibits open carry but is also "may issue" for concealed carry which, effectively, bans the carry of handguns for self defense.

See...gun control is all about eventual registrations, despite all claims to the contrary.
Historically, what usually follows registration of weapons? (hint hint...their seizure on some public safety pretext.)
Pelosi?I am waiting for the biggest supporter of California idiocy to defend it
Pelosi?

To be fair, I did make a mistake. When I thought of Pelosi it was based on the following quote: "We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it's legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines." and that belongs to Dianne.
That is just gross.you got wet over pelosi? fair enough
Are we thinking of the same person?A member here, I believe.
