Ya, you make a good point...
The people running this surely know enough to play the right tunes.
Trump does not suffer from the normal DC INCOMPETENCE.
He has the right people in charge.
He almost always does.
Thank You!
Trump cared at one point, but now he has this new plan which is probably better. Trump at the end of the day cares about winning, if he thinks he has a better plan now then he is all good.
If you think Trump does not care, then your gullible.
He WILL be the DC incompetence. Here comes the fascist.
The anti-Americans ARE the Trump supporters. Here comes the fascist.
Because of Trump's latest tweet I hope his inauguration is a catastrophe nd forever will be known as a national disgrace.
I just hope you guys keep it up. Insulting the working class worked so well for Hillary didn't it? But if you keep cooperating, maybe we won't have to deal with another incompetent socialist/Marxist/whatever for a very long time.

I saw elsewhere that the day will be filled to the brim with military and law enforcement, I got the idea that we might hear the most military marching band music anyone has heard in a long time, and I was wondering how that would go over if it happened. I also wondered if Trump was trying to strike fear into the hearts of the snowflakes, that this might be a form of physiological warfare. I heard that it will be the shortest inauguration in living memory because Trump "wants to get right to work"....I do think he intends to do a lot immediately, that he is not going to wait one second for Congress to get their **** together and do the Cabinet confirmations.
I am ok with all this except that I dont think that America wants this to look military, we dont want the soundtrack to be heavy on the Military Marching Music, as that will remind us of Hitler.
What say you?

You're working the same angle I was kinda' thinking, but it seemed so outlandish I didn't seriously consider it.I am more concerned with the "imposing order" angle. I do worry that we are almost certainly going to see protests against Trump all along the road at least as strong as we saw protests against Nixon while he was in office, and we know that they messed with his head. I wonder if Trump knows this too, and so he is starting off confrontational, which would disappoint me.
A political stunt, even though that's one helluva' interesting tie-in their being Trump's relatives and all.His hereditary home on the Isle of Lewis (where his mother grew up) are getting in early with the celebrations. They're burning his effigy tonight, along with Putin's!

I pretty much agree with everything you wrote.
I do not think Americans wan't to see a militaristic inauguration. We much prefer to see peace, freedom, and optimism, to a military show.
That's not to denigrate or overlook the military.
But we've got the mightiest military in the world, we know it, and we don't need to flaunt it or show it off. Leave that for Putin, Kim Jong-il, and others of their dictatorial ilk.

I sincerely hope you're wrong in this, Hawkeye.
Well, it may be intollerance and idealogy for some, but for some other's it may be a 'dollars & cents' calculation as to the effect on their careers.Or put another way, the celebs are not that tolerant of the huge chunk of Americans who support the President we have picked. The danger for them of course is that it is a very short walk between that and being anti-American, a truth that Trump and his supporters will be only too happy to highlight..

This is really a weird as **** election; I've never seen anything like it! :doh
I think you bring-up a good point: The Celebrity Apprentice star cannot be a happy camper, here.Yeah Trump is probably having nightmares at night, because yeah he won the Presidency, but he sold his soul to the right wing arm of the Republican Party. He thought all of hollywood liked him, but now they don't. He certainly hung around them all enough during his career as reality tv star. Seems the hollywood types have more principles than politicians lolz. I'm sure he wanted and would have liked his inauguration to outshine Obama's in every way imaginable, but now it's just looking like a party for Nazis.

This sounds very militaristic to me. I love me some military marching music, but we dont hear much of that anynore, this could be jarring.
If 1st cav marching band is in, it will definatly be military music. Expect music with bass notes at every other step of the parade, military music uses the bass to synchronize steps during a march, so a soldier can tell if they are marching out of step and correct themselves.
I have had to listen to the first cav marching band in nearly every change of command on fort hood, from batallion level to post commander level. Almost guaranteed they will probably try throw yellow rose of texas in there somewhere in the music lineup.
Of course.I too do not want the inauguration to look like a graduation at West Point. At the same time, I see no reason to keep the military out of sight at the inauguration. I for one appreciate those who are willing to put it all on the line for their country--we do have an all volunteer military--and I think they would appreciate an opportunity to be seen and to be acknowledged.
Or put another way, the celebs are not that tolerant of the huge chunk of Americans who support the President we have picked. The danger for them of course is that it is a very short walk between that and being anti-American, a truth that Trump and his supporters will be only too happy to highlight..
I said the same, 'till I saw the Tweet. One prays you are not an American.
"When you've got lemons, make lemonade"Greetings, Hawkeye10. :2wave:
Of course he could always state he is keeping it low key because the debt has doubled in the past few years, so this country can't afford to spend money we don't have just so we can pretend that things are okay when so many people are having a hard time these days. He can also mention that he intends to work hard to make times better for everyone and he isn't taking a salary to do this job, either. Then let it go at that! Most people would understand that explanation, and might even personally approve of it!
