Then you obviously don't realize how taxing it is on the drivers. Do you realize that these guys have trainers and nutritionists? How much work is done by the pit crews? NASCAR is a team sport just like any other, it's not all about the drivers. But are you aware that a driver can lose up to 10 pounds just in the duration of one race? It's incredibly demanding physically.

They lose that much weight because of how hot it is, not how much work they're doing. If you were strapped in a small car in a tight suit wearing a helmet for 4 hours you would sweat off 10 pounds too.

We read It Can't Happen Here in High School for extra credit in my AP Government class, but I am in Ca. and that was a long time ago.

As far as NASCAR goes, I know there is alot of work involved, and the drivers do alot of things that maybe the casual observor doesn't know about, but it is a mind numbingly boring thing to watch. My buddy tried to get me into NASCAR, but I just could not muster up any enthusiam for it at all. I guess it is good for turning on at a cookout, and watching the last 10 laps. Thats about all I can handle...
