This week on the reproductive choice front:

1. South Dakota's near total abortion ban was voted down.

2. California and Oregon voters defeated measures that would have required parental notification and a 48-hour waiting period before minors could get abortions.

3. There are at least 20 more lawmakers in the new Congress who support abortion rights than in the outgoing Congress.

4. The next speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi of California, is a staunch and vocal supporter of women's right to reproductive choice.

5. Kansas voters rejected Phill Kline, the anti-abortion crusader who campaigned on his efforts to seize women's confidential medical records from reproductive health centers.

Stay tuned.

Your forgetting:

It was the supreme court that authorized abortion

And it will be them that will ban it

and this time, its conservative.

Isn't it weird? At first, it was the conservatives preaching to the people to be against abortion and the supreme court defying them, now, its the liberals trying to legalize abortion and the supreme court now defting them.

The Supreme Court can no more "ban" abortion than they can ban you from taking a crap.
It's your body.
They could criminalize abortion... but they won't.
There's not a chance in the world.

Yea, thats what I thought before the Roe vs. Wade.

But ohhhh, was I wrong.

Pfft. I wasn't born before Roe versus Wade. Thank heavens.

Isn't the Supreme Court right at this moment trying to decide exactly what parts of the baby can be out of the woman's body during a partial birth abortion to ensure the dr. is committing feticide vs infanticide?

Now I ask you how f-ucked up is that s-hit?

Personally at that point when the baby is half way out I think the Dr. should just yank it the rest of the way and then hand it screaming to the mother so she can pierce the scissors through the skull her damn self. That way she gets a look at her choice right up freaking close.

Yawn. You don't have a clue what you're babbling about, but I observe that never seems to stop you from flapping your yap just as if you did.

O yeah.....what part of my first sentence is untrue?????? Make an argument against my claim. Don't just stick your fingers in your ear and say, "I can't hear you I can' t hear you I can't hear you." Bring it on

Again, I have no idea what you're babbling about. Anti-choice senators in Ohio and Missouri and anti-choice congressmen in Arizona and Pennsylvania lost their seats to abortion-rights supporters. Perhaps that's what you're referring to. The new congress is packed with vocal abortion rights supporters (who are about to become a whole lot more vocal, now that it is no longer necessary to pander to the conservative evangelical Right).

Make an argument against my claim.

There is no such procedure as "partial birth abortion". This is a rhetorical propaganda term coined by the anti-choice Right. There is no medical procedure by that name, and there never has been.
The procedure you're getting your knickers in a twist over is called D&X, or Dilation and Extraction. It is a rare procedure performed on a handful of patients each year, and it is one that is necessary to avert catastrophic health consequences. Kennedy has given strong indication that he has changed his stance and now recognizes the necessity for D&X, and will not uphold a ban on this procedure.

Ummm I think his name is Bob Casey a prolife Democrat Sen. from PA. He took down Santorum. Sound familiar? Or is it all just babble to you?

Call it what you will. The supreme court is discussing it currently and they're referring to it as partial birth abortion.

Yeah and there's no surgical procedure known as a "boob job" either but we all know what a boob job is. So there really is no need to quibble over the name of the procedure. If you'd like to refer to it as something else feel free.

Maybe but I recently read this tidbit:

Six years ago, when the court struck down a Nebraska ban on the practice, Kennedy wrote an impassioned dissent, describing D&X abortions as ``abhorrent.''

Now, abortion-rights advocates are hoping he will switch sides.

But Wednesday, Kennedy said most midterm abortions appear to be ``purely elective'' and described the disputed procedure as ``not medically necessary.''

So you could be right the tide might be turning! And if you'd like to insult me in the future you'll have to do better than "knickers" and "babbling" and "flapping your yap." I notice you quote jfuh in your sig. Nuff said.

I'll state this as plainly as I can:
I already know, for a fact, beyond the shadow of any possible doubt, that the Supreme Court will not uphold a ban on late term abortion.
I know this for a fact; you won't know it until probably June at the earliest.
I understand you don't wish to believe it, but there it is. You ought to at least start getting your mind around it now. Ease into it, you know?
Otherwise, you might end up like poor old Rives Miller Grogan. ---> :monkey
I can see it already. I'm only trying to spare you this humiliating fate.
