Religious bullshit at its finest.“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Not a U.S. law. Have all the gods you like in any order you wish... or no gods at all. That's the American way.
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image"
Feel free to make all the graven images you like. Go ahead and carve gods. Perfectly legal.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
No law against this. I'd be serving life if there were.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy
Or not. Feel to work or treat it like any other day.
Honour thy father and thy mother
You should but it's not a law. And maybe they were abusers so you can despise them if it makes you feel better.
Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not murder. Laws against murder are not based on the Ten Commandments. All societies have laws against murder regardless of their religious traditions, if any.
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Tough to sell this one if you're a Trumpette. But in any case, it's not against the law.
Thou shalt not steal
Laws against theft are not based on religious orthodoxy: They're just common sense.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour
Perjury? Common sense illegal. Lying about your neighbor because you don't like him? Not illegal.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's
None of this is illegal. This country's economy runs on coveting.
Kindly explain to me how the laws of the United States are based on the Ten Commandments.
Excellent post. All those things the Bible tells us not to do, are our god given rights, no? Thank goodness for free will.“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Mumbo jumbo, double talk, gobbledygook. What do you mean you don't believe in the fishes and the loaves or living inside the belly of a fish for three days, are you some kind of heretic?Religious bullshit at its finest.

Ho hum, same old crap. The right runs the economy into the ground and then the Democrats come in and repair it. Bring some facts on your next drive by.Yes, thank God for free will. You're free to make mistakes that lead to the destruction of our great country, and leftists are doing just that every single day.
Pretty much goes against your signature line.Yes, thank God for free will. You're free to make mistakes that lead to the destruction of our great country, and leftists are doing just that every single day.

So go ahead and tell us which laws are based on the Ten Commandments. All of western civilization is based on Judeo/Christian values including our laws. Do you think laws just pop out of the ether?

No Judeo-Christian values are incorporated into Western law. Laws existed long before Christianity and Judaism. Nations that have never had the Judeo/Christian religion had laws based on common sense.
You only have wingnuts for neighbors? How so? Have I advocated for greater government power?
So go ahead and tell us which laws are based on the Ten Commandments. This thread is not about nations that have never "had the Judeo/Christian religion" it's about the Ten Commandments and U.S. laws.
Demonstrably false! All of western civilization is based on Judeo/Christian values including our laws. Do you think laws just pop out of the ether?

They're not.I did not say our laws are based on the ten commandments. I said our laws are based on Judeo/Christian values.
Our laws are based on the Constitution, itself a secular document.OK, demonstrate.
Our laws are based on the Constitution, itself a secular document.
Skip the Christian revisionist history. The FF were quite clear about not incorporating religious ideology in the constitution. John Adams explicity said as much in his writings, "In Defense of the Constitutions of the United States of America" (1787).The authors of the constitution existed in a western world formed by Judeo/Christion values. Even the concept of a secular government is part of Judeo/Christian values. You can't escape the realities of history.
Secular government is based on Judeo-Christian values? Didn't kings rule by Divine Right? The authors of the constitution existed in a western world formed by Judeo/Christion values. No more. I'm done and so is that unconstitutional law.
No and hopefully they also don't pop out of the Bible. God given rights, what are they? Whose god?All of western civilization is based on Judeo/Christian values including our laws. Do you think laws just pop out of the ether?
