Your unsupported opinion is interesting in its extremely high inaccuracy. The conversation in the "Should Billionaires Exist" thread got me thinking about the people in my life who support far left Progressive (quasi-Marxist) policies and the sort of people they are.
Living where I do there is no shortage of Sanders/Warren/AOC and now Mandani supporters among my friends and family. While this is still anecdotal, with full confidence I can make two generalizations about these people:
1. Most are among the nicest, kindest people I know.2. Not one of them has a clue how a market economy works, how wealth is created, what it takes to run a successful business, and they show no desire to understand any of it.
This almost willful ignorance of economic reality leaves them vulnerable to being spun by collectivist jargon.
While their cluelessness can be frustrating, I will not give up on them, for their own sake as well as mine.
I'm sure you think so.Your unsupported opinion is interesting in its extremely high inaccuracy.

Not sure about that. I believe many of them voted for Bill Clinton. Most, if not all, progressives didn't for an adulterous felon who is not only wrecking our economy but is also making us look like dumb fools.
I don’t recall Bill Clinton wrecking our economy. Not sure about that. I believe many of them voted for Bill Clinton.
I mostly agree about progressives: big hearts, good intentions, but often naive, impractical, and overly idealistic. The conversation in the "Should Billionaires Exist" thread got me thinking about the people in my life who support far left Progressive (quasi-Marxist) policies and the sort of people they are.

And if they did, does that translate to "They voted for Trump"?Not sure about that. I believe many of them voted for Bill Clinton.

Willful ignorance is voting for a felon con man for president. It’s hard to top that amount of stupidity silly anecdotes aside. The conversation in the "Should Billionaires Exist" thread got me thinking about the people in my life who support far left Progressive (quasi-Marxist) policies and the sort of people they are.

Lesser of the two evils. Kamal was so bad, she couldn’t beat someone convicted of 34 felons and who supposedly had a very unpopular first term. What does that tell you about the the Democrat nominee and her party?Willful ignorance is voting for a felon con man for president. It’s hard to top that amount of stupidity silly anecdotes aside.
Bu ... bu ... bu ... bu ... but Trump!Willful ignorance is voting for a felon con man for president. It’s hard to top that amount of stupidity silly anecdotes aside.
Agreed. The loudest of the extremist voices, apparently.I would add another one:
3. None of them act out as the posters do on this forum.
I think that's a fair assessment, with particular notice of not being viewed as 'bad people with ideas'.I mostly agree about progressives: big hearts, good intentions, but often naive, impractical, and overly idealistic.
On these last two, is where we part ways.I still vastly prefer them to the conservatives I know, who are fundamentally lacking in empathy and often display bitterness and outright hate towards the weak rather than the powerful. The past decade they have defended increasing unethical behavior from their leaders. And more and more, they seem to be just as clueless on how to achieve sustainable economic growth as progressives.
And they are every bit as arrogant and condescending.
I am suspicious. The conversation in the "Should Billionaires Exist" thread got me thinking about the people in my life who support far left Progressive (quasi-Marxist) policies and the sort of people they are.

Hyperbole that demonstrates highly biased generalization.2. Not one of them has a clue how a market economy works, how wealth is created, what it takes to run a successful business, and they show no desire to understand any of it.

How very generous of you....While their cluelessness can be frustrating, I will not give up on them, for their own sake as well as mine.
Till more cogent after 8 years of presidency than Biden was after 4.
I was speaking of Trump voters but I suppose it’s in vogue to follow the lead of the low IQ president and act just like him in Republican circles. For gods sakes people were wearing maxi pads on their ears. It’s odd you complain when but Biden is very much still in style. Enjoy the electrolytes. They’ve got what plants crave.Bu ... bu ... bu ... bu ... but Trump!
Conservatives are typically threatened by diversity, pluralism and change, so your intolerance is predictable.I would add another one:

If you're worried about being counted among them, don't be.I am suspicious.
I did say it was both anecdotal and a generalization.Hyperbole that demonstrates highly biased generalization.
Are you new to the site? What is "collectivist jargon"?
Gosh, thanks. How very generous of you....

You're getting your ass handed to you in the other thread so you had to start a new one to complain about the "mentality" of folks you can't out argue. The conversation in the "Should Billionaires Exist" thread got me thinking about the people in my life who support far left Progressive (quasi-Marxist) policies and the sort of people they are.
