Just an idea I had, we'll see if it takes off and captures the imaginations of the DebatePolitics members.

Use this thread to post up something that you are trying to achieve that you think will help you to develop and improve your lives. It can be something like furthering your education, quitting smoking, losing weight, starting your own business, anything really.

To get you started I'll confess I'm trying to build up some muscle this summer, trying to get 'ripped'. At the moment I have to say slightly torn is the extent of my achievement. Now excuse me, it's time for another 100 situps.:x

Good idea. Good luck on getting ripped, getting in the habit of going to the gym for me is as difficult as quitting smoking. (Which amount to the same thing)

When it comes to my personal self improvement, this year I just recently got a new job that pays me 3 times what I was used to, so thats good. With this new income im moving into a much nicer place, and plan on putting some much needed body work and new wheels on the MR2.

So when it comes to finances, my car and my home i'll be see'ing big improvements. This fall when classes start back up I have a GPA to fix, and perhaps ill make this relationship im working on work.

If all of this works out, my life will have significantly improved since last year, when I was broke and studying all the time.

well I am trying to lose about 10 'vanity' pounds and so far I have lost about 5, so I am happy about that. I am also trying to stop being so dang clumsy. I swear if I touch it, it breaks. Also it's not much to improve my life but I am always so forgetful and such a procrastinator that I am really, really trying to do better about that. Just some little things that will at least make me feel better about myself.

Thanks, I'm not going for the muscle beach look mind, none of my clothes would fit! The Bruce Lee approach, lean and mean, that'll do for me. Congrats on the job and good luck with your other goals.

Don't be so sure, excess hesitation can hold you back from doing things you could really enjoy, I've some experience of this myself. Fortunately the last thing I hesitated to commit to has saved me money that's allowing me to try something even more ambitious now.
