Russian propaganda swamps Moldova ahead of elections

A Russian propaganda network literally called Pravda is swamping the feeds with fake news stories falsely attributed to BBC, Euronews and Bellingcat claiming corruption, embezzlement, drug abuse, secret mistress and all the normal slander ahead of the Moldovan elections. They also claim 42% of the absentee ballots are from dead people, which is false, but they want to discredit absentee voting, because most Moldovans abroad tend to be pro- West. And Moldova has alot of absentee voting, because alot of people left Moldova in the 90s and 00s.

So apparently the Russians are just buying votes now. Well considering they already did this once with Ilan Shor, it's not surprising. And arranging paid protests.

Russia's hybrid war on Moldovan democracy

It's just getting worse.

Online disinformation intensifies ahead of Moldovan parliamentary elections

Now apparently Maia Sandu has procured sperm from "gay celebrities" in order to concieve a child. And of course the Russian propaganda claims she's rigging the election, using the diaspora votes. Moldova has a large diaspora that has always been allowed to vote, and the government is this year ramping up efforts to ensure Moldovans abroad will get to vote. The Russians claims these votes will be fraudulent. They also claim Moldova will join the war in Ukraine if Sandu wins (Moldova barely has an army), which is obvious bs. It's more that Moldova is next on Russia's list if Ukraine falls. And yes, Kremlin's little Gremlin, Ilan Shor is still leading the Pro- Russian effort (though both him and his party are blocked from participating in the election by the Moldovan Courts).
