Republicans maintain a double standard. Nationally, republicans are libertarians; internationally, republicans are nationalists.
Republicans maintain a double standard - one for American citizens and one for everybody else.

I, personally, maintain all of the above double standards in my life. I suppose that makes me a republican. Of course, maintaining a double standard does not allow me to be as consistent as a libertarian, a nationalist or a socialist, but it does allow me avoid the pitfalls that eventually take down those who are consistent.
