chill out, I stated the definition before, and there are multiple definitions
Not religious faith, no. The definition of faith is "strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof." I have none of that in anything. One of the important things of having a rational discussion is maintaining accurate definitions. You ought to try that.
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No you can't. Is capitalism a religion? Is feminism a religion? Ideologies and economic policies ARE NOT RELIGIONS.
The Oxford dictionary disagrees with you. One of its definitions of "religion" is:"a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance". By definition, a religion does not require belief in a supreme being.
Well that's a pretty sneaky way of using words. Hey, let's pick some hyperbolic usage of the word and mix it up with a different definition.
Please explain to me how using a word as it is defined in a standard dictionary is sneaky.
My answer was far more nuanced than that. However, I'll abide. I used ONE definition of the word. The one that fits: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Mormonism. You know, the one that includes a supreme being or beings, worshiping, faith, dogma etc. You used a hyperbolic usage of the same word which fits body building, competitive eating, and swimming. Then, you pretended as if it was all one single definition referring to the same damn thing. That's pretty sneaky. I mean, I almost didn't catch it but jeez, I had to actually look it up to see what you were doing. Are you going to stand there with a serious ****ing face and tell me that body building is a religion in THE SAME sense as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc? Get serious.
"To argue with someone who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead." -mThomas Paine
Yeah, I didn't think you'd own up to it either. It was pretty sneaky though. I'll give you that.
"When science learns all there is to know, they will find that religion was there first."--Peter O'Toole, the Creator
We already know that religion was there first because religion is the culmination of fear, angst, hope, and societal control for those that didn't know what science now knows and continues to learn.

I'm not owning up to anything. You're the one who has accused me of saying things that I never said.

I believe your quote and the one I responded to was about religion not faith. Nonetheless I hope you feel better throwing around hatefulness, it's so Old Testament and not Christian at all.

So I could believe in God, but as long as I don't attend a dogmatic church I'm not religious?
If you say you are a believer in God but not religious you are, in my opinion, confused.
What you state as THE definition of faith is actually only one definition of faith. The Oxford dictionary also defines faith as: "complete trust or confidence in someone or something". Perhaps you should do a little more work toward maintaining accurate definitions yourself.
We're talking about religious faith here. If you look up that definition, you get the one I provided. It is blatantly dishonest to run around with the goalposts and pretend that religious faith and confidence are the same thing.
