.... because a bunch of them were arrested.
Bavarian police arrest far-right Reichsbürger suspects
Seems these were more people involved in the plot to overthrow the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Reichsbürgers believe the following things (many of you probably remember them from their weird failed coup a few years back):
a) The German Reich still legally exists
b) Germany does not currently have a valid constitution
c) the Federal Republic is not a valid country but a corporation
d) Germany is still occupied by the Allies.
Articles on the topic make no mention of exactly what actionable crimes they are being arrested for. All that is listed are thought crimes.
In my estimation a German should have the full right to believe in unicorns, vampires, in the existence of some fantastic German Reich, that Germany lacks a valid constitution, that the Federal Republic is nothing but a corporation, that Germany is still under allied occupation.
Just as a German is free to believe in vampires, it becomes another matter if he actually sinks his fangs into another's jugular. He may be arrested for the later, but not for the former.
I have the uncomfortable feeling the Bavarian police is arresting Reichsburgers primarily for their beliefs.
Incidentally, the US also has some folks who style themselves Constitutional citizens. Or something like that. They issue themselves their own documents and vehicle registrations. They usually are left alone. That is until they get on public roads without proper registrations. Then they engage the arresting officers on Constitutional matters.
They had made a real plan to overthrow the government (which would never had worked), but plotting to overthrow the government is illegal.Articles on the topic make no mention of exactly what actionable crimes they are being arrested for. All that is listed are thought crimes.

I don´t know about these guys, but normaly they collect illegal weapon deposits and make plans to overthrow the FRG. Is planning to overthrow the government by force no crime in the US?
one of those is a Peter Fitzek, who declared a Kingdom of Germany ....
