Why do the anti-US and several Islamic groups call the Iraqi government a
"Puppet government."?
When you Prove to them it’s a government elected by the Iraqi people they either back away or change the topic. Why?
Why is it so bad that the people elected its own government?
What’s the broader issue here? Why don’t these people want the Iraq people to succeed? Why is it so damming to them it they do succeed?
Will a success in Iraqi by IRAQI PEOPLE unravel the very fabric of the universe?

Because let's face it, a successful Iraq, based on the current model is a friend to the U.S. in a volatile region. Right next door and right above are staunch enemies. Further west is a surface ally, kept on a leash only by fear.

It's an ideology hand delivered by the West into a region diametrically at odds wih it.

Is the basic role of government not to serve as a "puppet"/mouth/head of the people anyway?

I agree with you on this, cherokee, the fact that it was done this way should not be such a big issue.
