Here is a presentation regarding what the Bible says and what the Jehovah's Witnesses believe. It is straight forward and honest. May GOD reveal and explain HIS truth through this thread:

Christ established his church (catholic) with Peter------the J-Wit. were not around.

Here are the Key Points of difference...........

  • he Trinity: The most significant difference is the rejection of the Trinity by Jehovah's Witnesses. Catholics believe in one God existing as three co-equal, co-eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Jehovah's Witnesses, on the other hand, do not accept the Trinity, believing only God the Father (Jehovah) is the Almighty God. They view Jesus as God's first creation and the Holy Spirit as God's active force, not a person. This difference in understanding of God's nature leads to many other points of divergence.
  • Divinity of Jesus: Flowing directly from their rejection of the Trinity, Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in the full divinity of Jesus Christ, considering him a created being subordinate to God the Father. Catholics, however, affirm Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man, equal to the Father.
  • The Cross: Jehovah's Witnesses reject the traditional understanding of Jesus' death on a cross, asserting he was executed on a "torture stake" (a single upright beam), according to Catholic Answers. They also view the use of the cross in worship as rooted in paganism. Catholics, however, believe Jesus died on a cross and venerate the crucifix as a reminder of his sacrifice.
  • Salvation and the afterlife: Jehovah's Witnesses have a distinct view of salvation and the afterlife. They believe that only 144,000 individuals go to heaven to rule with Jesus, while the majority of righteous people will live in a restored paradise on Earth after Armageddon. They also do not believe in an immortal soul and reject the concept of hellfire as eternal torment, viewing it as annihilation. Catholic doctrine holds a different understanding of salvation, the immortal soul, and the reality of hell and purgatory.
  • Authority and Tradition: Jehovah's Witnesses base their beliefs solely on the Bible and hold the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society as their central authority for interpreting scripture. The Catholic Church, however, sees the Bible, tradition, and the Magisterium (teaching authority of the Church) as intertwined sources of divine revelation.
  • Other differences: Other points of contention include the use of sacraments (like the Eucharist and baptism), the concept of apostolic succession, the veneration of Mary and saints, and the clergy/laity distinction.
In essence, the fundamental difference lies in their understanding of the very nature of God, with Jehovah's Witnesses taking a Unitarian and Arianist theological stance compared to the Trinitarian belief of Catholicism. These differing foundational beliefs lead to a wide array of other doctrinal disagreements between the two religions.

Here is a very honest explanation of what JW's accept and reject from the CHRISTIAN standpoint. If someone needs a commentary to read the Bible ---- is he or she actually understanding the Bible on their own or being guided...

Special pleading. No explanation.

Matthew 24:24-27

22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.

26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man

What the Jehovah's Witnesses sat regarding their New World Translation ----- -

My god can beat up your god every day of the week? Isn't arguing over religious beliefs just plain stupid?

Psalm 115...

2 Why should the nations say:
“Where is their God?”+

3 Our God is in the heavens;
He does whatever he pleases.

4 Their idols are silver and gold,
The work of human hands.+

5 A mouth they have, but they cannot speak;+
Eyes, but they cannot see;

6 Ears they have, but they cannot hear;
A nose, but they cannot smell;

7 Hands they have, but they cannot feel;
Feet, but they cannot walk;+
They make no sound with their throat.+

8 The people who make them will become just like them,+
As will all those who trust in them.+

15 May you be blessed by Jehovah,+
The Maker of heaven and earth.+

16 As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah,+
But the earth he has given to the sons of men.+

17 The dead do not praise Jah;+
Nor do any who go down into the silence of death.*+

18 But we will praise Jah
From now on and forever.
Praise Jah!*

The Witnesses are not any more problematic than any other religion or denomination or faith. They believe what they believe, and that's that.

Thank you, Joluoto...why people choose to get their information 2nd hand is beyond my understanding...of course we do live in a time where propaganda has never been more prevalent...

Is the Watchtower/Awake the thinking of JEHOVAH, or a human opinion and a mere view of what GOD actually said? Here is a Jehovah's Witnesses video intended to make members remain loyal, but instead it exposes the organization's rationalization of shutting down person research and outside influence. What is wrong with transparency and bringing issues into the light. LIES need to be protected and not the TRUTH. The Witness organization is a human organization and not JEHOVAH nor HIS Word.
Here is a JEHOVAH's Witnesses video:

Do you believe it's OK for people to get blood transfusions?

Asking for a friend.

Their stance on the trinity is the only thing i agree with. It makes no logical sense.

Asking for a friend.

I believe you can do whatever you like...so can your friend. Me? No...bloodless medicine is the healthier way to go...

Their cult practices and purposeful neglect of dying patients really grinds my gears. I know a lot of ex witnesses, its painful what they have to go through.

I've been a JW for almost 50 years and as far as I'm concerned there's no better way to live...never seen anyone who is sick neglected...

Lovely, more bible verses that I don't believe at all.

Doesn’t denying the divinity of Christ equal not being Christian?
