Dave Rubin started out on TYT as a supposed progressive. A gay progressive. Realizing there was no real money in the progressive movement (as it is not corrupt), he became a conservative-pretending-to-be-liberal who criticized the left. He became big enough to secure financing with Prager and I believe is now on Glenn Beck's network. He wrote a book called 'Don't Burn this Book' (attempting to lampoon the left's "cancel culture'), which no one bought or burned. Shortly thereafter, the right-wing began burning and banning books in droves, to which Rubin remains conveniently silent. Anyways, Rubin said that he he found the right-wing to be far more tolerant than the left; that they believe in 'live and let live'. How has that worked out?

Turns out that when the right-wing said they hated gays, and wanted to impose a constitutional ban on their relationships, they really meant it. I can't really think of anyone sadder than Rubin except perhaps Ted Cruz. Both are walking jokes who no one respects on either side of he ideological spectrum. They're just tools who sell their dignity to the highest bidder, because capitalism.

I couldn't imagine joining an ideological movement that hated my guts because they paid really well.

Rubin: 'The two ultra sounds are different colors, is this racial?'

Rubin: 'I know some of you are confused, but I assure you this isn't a cheap process...'

Sam (commenting): 'Six women, two mothers, zygotes, two men... sperm in test tubes... 75% of his audience are saying this is an abomination unto God, minds exploding, but he assures them this isn't cheap...'

Dave Rubin was never right wing, so this is just idiocy.

It ultimately doesn't matter, since he's a willing tool of the right-wing. Because the right-wing is a grift, the base is insane/stupid (or complicit in the grift), and you don't get rich by being progressive. You get rich by mining right-wing idiots.

Prager to Dave Rubin:

'I want you to continue to say you're a liberal... you're of great use to me. *smokes cigar*

It ultimately doesn't matter,
your entire post is predicated on that point, so it does.
since he's a willing tool of the right-wing.
Everyone and anything can be a tool of the right wing. Say something stupid on the internet? that'll immediately be taken as a tool of the right wing, if you're a leftist. Nothing advertises for the right wing more than a lefty who says something insane on twitter.
Because the right-wing is a grift, the base is insane/stupid (or complicit in the grift), and you don't get rich by being progressive. You get rich by mining right-wing idiots.
All the rich progressives seem to counter that point handidly.

David Brock had a similar issue. He was a leading right-wing attack dog, wrote a book demonizing Anita Hill, and then found himself at a Republican convention listening to hate against gays and realized he should reconsider, and founded media Matters for America, and wrote the book "Blinded by the Right".

Well, he himself admits that his audience is almost exclusively conservative. In the video.
and? he can't force lefties to watch him. How does that make him right wing?
But it takes a special person to volunteer.
all it takes it to say one single thing that rallies the left wing mob against. You like israel? you are right wing. You think women shouldn't be called "vagina-havers" or have to compete against biological men, you are right wing. You are cynical of big pharma companies and their interests? you are right wing. Don't want world war 3? you are right wing. There is not a single independent political thought that wouldn't get you eaten up by the left, and have every sane person ending up expressing sympathy.

That's why some conservatives watch dave rubin. They saw the left wing reaction to him as entirely unjustified.

He is a willing tool. It amazes me what people will do for fame, power, and money.

He promotes right-wing talking points. That makes him right-wing or a tool of the right-wing. It doesn't matter if he's conning right-wing dopes or he really believes it.

You like israel? you are right wing.

You are right-wing if you support and promote right-wing policies.

You think women shouldn't be called "vagina-havers" or have to compete against biological men, you are right wing.

I don't care.

You are cynical of big pharma companies and their interests? you are right wing.

Do you support the government being able to negotiate drug prices?

Don't want world war 3? you are right wing.

You support right-wing authoritarian invasions, you're right-wing.

Dave Rubin is funded by the right-wing.

David Brock is an attack-dog for hire.

Not really. He doesn't work for any side that pays him. He was right and now he's against them. But he is an attack dog.

An attack dog for the Clintons, who are far, far from being on the liberal/progressive wing of the party.

If I had a dime for every so called "ultra liberal firebrand" that gets insulted one fine day and goes running in tears to the other extreme, I'd almost be another Jeff Bezos.
People like this are born camp followers or born camp cult leaders, they have a fundamentalist mindset from the get-go, so in the end either extreme on the spectrum will do fine.

Like most Americans, I am not even really "all that liberal"...I believe in the ideas that The New Deal was founded upon but I also believe in Sherrod Brown's "Dignity of Work" platform.
I have some conservative values too.
People like Rubin don't believe in balance, one side is "ALL WRONG" and the other side can DO no wrong.
Dogma is the enemy of critical thinking.

Ok?

You know,,, All of this is allowed to happen because in the culture war... you never have to look back and answer for really bad takes of the past.

Because he only says things that righties want to hear.

If it quacks like a duck...
Righties want to hear that he's gay and adopting a surrogate child? The premise of the thread seems to be the opposite.

Maybe the problem is labelling everything "right wing" making it an absolutely useless label and, ironically, giving him free advertising to those crowds who would have never been interested in him.
