The american media wants riots, and so far most of the protests have been peaceable.

The whole set up of the media riot baiting reeks of implicit racism and old school elitist values, divorced from the picture on the ground.

One could practically make a sketch out of a reporter throwing a brick at the police to kick off unrest.

You are basing your evidence on tweets which don't even represent the majority of people. It has nothing to do with them cowering away, but rather that such people making those threats were in the minority whereas the people who decided to peacefully protest were in the majority.
