The President is not our national savior

We see examples of this every day on DP. We frequently imply all the President has to do is wave his hand or flip a switch and whatever he wants done will magically occur. The reality is far more complex. First off the Constitution is pretty clear on how the Founders thought things should run; the Powers of the President and Congress are pretty well delineated (or "enumerated". And after over two hundred years those lines are pretty blurry.

To accomplish most things the President has to work with Congress - half of which didn't want him to get the job. He's the Command in Chief of the military but requires agreement with Congress (in most cases) to employ it; he annually prepares a budget which Congress typically ignores.

Anyway, the link makes some interesting observations - maybe even some worthy of discussion.

Who said it was. Biden is not the president. The anarchists have their own goals with or without Biden. So far democrats have not opposed them very hard. What would Biden do as president, no one knows for sure. From what we have seen so far... not much. So far it appears BLM owns the democrats.

Biden and the Democrats have denounced the violence. Why do you lie? So far we know what Trump has done and the violence has gotten WORSE. Not because of Trump but the violence has become WORSE. So again, Trump claiming the violence would be worse under Biden is a LIE and fear mongering when the violence has gotten worse under Trump.

The democrat regimes in blue states and cities sure have been an epic fail. Biden being quiet for for so long is suspect. Kamala stating the protests will and need to continue says it all.
The trouble makers are Biden's voters.

And white supremacists are Trump voters. All you have is fear mongering. FYI protests does not equate to riots. Kamala is right to say people should continue to protest. You just want to spread fear and hate.

The president acts like a king because successive congresses have delegated so much power to the executive that he is largely unfettered in what he can and can't do. Congress regularly passes the "No bad things shall happen" law which includes language that effectively says things like, "the president shall be empowered to insure that no bad things will happen". This is a blank check for presidential overreach and imperial presidency.

We need a paradigm shift in the relationship between the three branches which is horribly misbalanced these days. Congress, needs to start pulling back control, and if the won't, then the courts need to force them to by overturning the laws that excessively handed power over.
