DATES! Dates and coffee to be precise, YUM! A bud just brought me back some from his recent vacation to Death Valley. Don't ask me why anyone would vacation in Death Valley in summer though, I apparently have odd friends,

I'm not sure they grow dates in Death Valley.
However, in Indio--near Palm Springs--they do.
I think in that area of Cali, the deserts all meet in a vast wasteland.
Oh, yeah.....the dates...sweeter than sugar, possibly healthful, reasonably priced considering the labor involved.
YUM is the right word.

Dates are a wonderful fruit. I used to live in Bay Ridge in Brooklyn which has a large arab population. The produce stands had a variety of fresh dates to choose from.

Food from "Death Valley".....there must be a reason no restaurant is named as such.

dessert in one word - tiramisu.

Bacon with anything, IMO, is a snack, hors d’œuvre or dinner.
