Just when you think it couldn't get any worse....[Martin] is a walking, talking, firebreathing ethical violation personified, supremely unqualified and inappropriate for the position, and, in the words of Senator Adam Schiff, “No one embodies Donald Trump’s personal weaponization of the Justice Department more than Ed Martin.”
This is from Joyce Vance Substack.
The Outrage That Is Ed Martin
When I was going through the selection process for a U.S.substack.com
Ed Martin is Trump's nominee for (and current "Acting") U.S. Attorney for D.C. (how he can be acting, I don't know, since he's never been confirmed). He is a walking, talking, firebreathing ethical violation personified, supremely unqualified and inappropriate for the position, and, in the words of Senator Adam Schiff, “No one embodies Donald Trump’s personal weaponization of the Justice Department more than Ed Martin.”
Among his numerous disqualifications,
he's never been a prosecutor;
he "supported the “Stop the Steal” movement after the 2020 election. He moved to dismiss pending January 6-related cases as soon as he became the interim U.S. Attorney. [Including one in which he was the defense attorney];
he fired prosecutors who worked on the cases and launched an internal review to try to find misconduct, not that any had been alleged. He is investigating Justice Department prosecutors who brought charges against rioters";
he "has been making public comments that will impact cases, as in leading district judges to dismiss them. DOJ policy expressly prohibits prosecutors from suggesting a defendant is guilty before they are convicted";
he has used his office to threaten views that are different than those of this administration;
he has a close relationship with Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, a white supremacist who supports Nazi ideology and used to wear a Hitler-style mustache to work before his conviction in connection with January 6".
As Vance suggests, contact your Senator to let them know, Martin needs to be removed.
Trump doesn't care about qualifications.
But wait! There’s more (to come)Just when you think it couldn't get any worse....
Not parody.
He will imo be named special prosecutor to do the very same should he not be confirmed. Special prosecutor will give him singularity of purpose to focus on the corrupt prosecutors judges and all involved in the fedsurection. Be careful what you wish for.This is from Joyce Vance Substack.

Totally! That's why he is firing all the experts in the government, especially the experts in ethics and governmental fraud -- he doesn't want to be hindered by such things.I think Trump sees being highly qualified as a bad thing.
Problem is, when Trump (or anyone) has to deal with the judiciary, they can't just lie and get away with it like Trump does in public and the media. No, no, no! Courts deal in facts, evidence, and the law. Trump is anti-facts, anti-evidence, and anti-law. The judiciary is a real problem for him. It would also be for a phony "special prosecutor." You might want to look into the failures of special counsel John Durham.He will imo be named special prosecutor to do the very same should he not be confirmed.
Or legality.Totally! That's why he is firing all the experts in the government, especially the experts in ethics and governmental fraud -- he doesn't want to be hindered by such things.
