Here's the rankings according to the NCAA site.

College football rankings: Preseason top 25 for the 2023 season

Here are preseason college football rankings for the 2023 season.

Something tells me this is way wrong. I do agree that Ohio St is a top 5 team. Every other team is a wildcard. LSU-Florida St will settle their shit in week 1, so we'll have at least some idea of how improved they are since last year.
 
Might as well get all of them up there so we can follow the shuffle. It probably won't take 3 games before a few of these rankings are turned upside down.

I may be wrong, and having been a former employee of Oregon, I may be biased, but I like the Ducks chances this year. The PAC-12 shakeup is gonna be a thing but I guess the Ducks were trying to get ahead of that by being the first to bolt the PAC-12 for Big.

Oregon in general is an athletics school, mainly because Phil Knight, founder of Nike, has determined to make it so. Oregon has come close to winning the natty on a few occasions but were just a few studs short. I think the former Georgia guy as their HC and their move to BIG makes them a tougher competitor.

Seriously, I think Matt Rhule is a good coach and will probably make them as competitive as they were under Bo Pellini. I thought Scott Frost was that guy and shit, he came so close in so many games. I'm guessing Rhule wins most of the games that Frost lost but even so, we're talking 9-3, 10-2. Good? Sure, but it ain't Tom Osborne.
 
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I also thought Scot Frost was going to be the one. He was a great quarterback at Nebraska and had a great track record as a coach. But it didn't work out

In fact, it makes sense. Other than the Ivy, the ACC has the best academic schools. Stanford and California belong.

Coast-to-coast plane flights back and forth during the week make so much sense for all the sports in all the new mega conferences; academics mean NOTHING in realignment;

Its not that big a deal, think about it.
The non power 5 conferences spend more time on busses than the majors do in the air.
A 3 hour flight becomes a 5 hour flight.
Totally travel time differance is negligible.
The world is much smaller today. Its 2023.
This kids are not taking trains.

I almost hope that we end up with BIG and SEC mega-conferences and then the NCAA steps in and ends conferences or somehow comes up with 4 mega-conferences. East, West, North, South and then divisions within.

Stanford wrestling coach Rob Koll, long-time successful coach at Cornell, says Stanford is tougher academically to get admitted to. He sees the positives of going ACC for Stanford wrestling. The ACC only has 6 wrestling schools.

Three flights, one for VA VA Tch, Pitt, one for NC, NC St, Duke and the 3rd for conference tourney. Of course wrestling means nothing here. It’s about football money.

He did lament the problems with sports like baseball. These new schools (Oregon) aren’t getting a full share of the money they make off of players compared to the old schools (Nebraska) Lots of people like the basketball fit for the Big 12 (+4)

There’s a new clock rule for first downs, bowing to the sports books and the under.
Initial ratings inevitably lead to the same teams in the chosen four with easy schedules.
These public schools have budgets for NIL payment money and the transfer portal.

Edit: Coach Koll also mentioned the concern parents have of coaches recruiting over their recruits with transfer portal ‘mercenaries’ for a year, maybe two.
