you're a gun banner, you want registration...
...that the federal government violates the tenth amendment constantly is no justification for other violations
Can one get a permit without owning a gun? I want a CCWP, just because.
Only if doing so would not have required self-incrimination. The problem with mandatory gun registration is that it must exempt prohibited persons.
...we already have laws making it a crime for a prohibited person to possess any gun.
I do propose banning most guns
I recognize this can't really be done until the 2nd Amendment is repealed....in the meantime (and after any ban) I propose a mandatory firearms register.
So you admit the 10th Amendment would be no impediment to such a register ?
if I were a judge and a national registration law was passed, I'd strike it down as violating the Second, ninth and tenth amendments.
But you miss the point. I oppose registration for several reasons-one of them being that gun banners like you see it as a tool to help you achieve your goals.Gun registration does not do a single useful thing for gun owners
You've proven with your very own words why you should never be seriously considered by any stretch of the imagination to sit as an impartial judge, or a prosecutor for that matter.
Exactly how did TD prove anything other than making his point about nonsensical people on the issue making choices for gun owners? He is correct.
Death by a thousand little cuts from the anti gun nuts would be a good analogy.
He's on record here at DP as stating " I don't care if a drunk 17 year old male gropes a 15 year old female as long as there is no physical harm." That not only is an indisputable gender bias against females in general, it's a clear indicator of lack of concern for defenseless young females. No one with that personal testimony should ever be allowed to be a sitting judge, or a prosecutor, in a court of law.

That certainly sounds like poor judgement too me.

And not the 5th as it required people with illegally held gun to incriminate themselves by registering them ?
In truth a mandatory register violates no amendment.
For instance the 2nd amendment doesn't ban a registry. And also we allow the government to ban certain people from owning guns - the 2nd doesn't give the government the right to ban a released felon from owning a gun.
The 2nd amendment talks about "the people" not "citizens"
I does make law enforcement easier
Helping law enforcement to solve/deter crime is not useful ?
sadly your understanding of constitutional law is weak=what part of the constitution properly delegates such a power to the federal government?
...you cannot prove registration makes law enforcement easier....
...you are on record as wanting to ban all guns...
...you support registration...
...it is only logical that you think registration aids with banning/confiscation
