A new symbol of Russia’s anti-war movement

The colors of the Novgorod Republic, for a long time the most powerful state in northern Medieval Rus, and a statelet that also was able to avoid the Mongol invasions.

Not a bad symbol to take.

It is a lovely flag. Of course, I do like the double-headed Russian Imperial Eagle coat of arms as well. Even though the Tsardom no longer exists.

The Trident coat of arms of Ukraine called the Tryzub. Supposedly derives from the seal-trident of Volodymyr, the first Grand Prince of Kyiv.

The Tryzub symbol is ubiquitous and is literally everywhere in modern Ukraine, from postage stamps to police cars.

Both the original and the new anti-war flag are quite pretty. Love the color combination of white and blue.
