The new discriminated against minority...Americans that love their country.

'cos if it's not nailed down, it'll be in our possession soon enough. Do you not know our history?

History's pirates. I have a lot of admiration for that.

Some quick Googling suggests that that was in February 2008, before her husband even had the Democrat nomination. And, obviously, that's a far cry from the attitude described in the OP. If you had a father who was, say, a lifelong dole-bludger but who finally one day decided he was going to look for work, you might well say something like that (with "hope," even before a complete "change", as it were); but it wouldn't mean that you didn't love your father, and certainly wouldn't mean that you hated him and wanted him destroyed! Whether or not you agree with Michelle Obama's opinions, that clearly isn't an example of what the OP was talking about.

If that's your idea of respect, I'd hate to see what your disdain looks like

my distain looks a whole lot nicer than what I was shown in that other thread by those that hate this country and burn its symbols.

I am much more polite to ever do that to anyone's symbol of their country.

I am asking people to join me on this grassy hill OUT OF LOVE.....

There is much, too much HATE on DP that I have seen, so I am asking those to come up here that have LOVE in their hearts for the US...whatever version they what it to be.

Just because YOU say it doesn't make it true. No one HAS to say why they do it anymore than your assumption of why they do it has any value. You are doing exactly what I said. Placing YOUR value on why someone cares about their country on others.

NOPE, they have publicly said they HATE the US and everything it stands for. Just ask them. Their words, not mine. That is why they enjoy burning its symbol.

Ask yourself this....how many people that love America burn its flag?...ZERO

That is the inconvenient truth of the flag burners.

We disagree on this issue...FINE That is politics as usual, but you have still said you love the United States in your own way, and that was all I asked anyone to do.

...and you did it out loud for everyone to see.

How respectful and honorable is that?

Passive aggression isn't love. Never smile at a crocodile.

With respect to all....

Can we not make this into some debate.

All I am asking for is a ROLL CALL of DP members who are not afraid to say the love the United States....and not ashamed to say so publically and out loud for all to see.

So far the count is only 2 on this grassy hill.

Kinda not much of a suprize after all the venom I heard from everyone else that HATES the United States.

I did not expect too many to stand on their own two feet and stand with me and say the opposite.

It is not popular to do that. "The Crowd" (majority of DP members) is too busy burning flags and spitting on veteran's memories under their 1A rights of the US Constitution.

Which, by the way, will be the very first thing they burn if they ever get in power. I think I am the only one that sees that fact.

First burn the symbol of the US in its flag....next burn the basis of the US in the Constitution....then burn anything and everything they do not like. Without US Constitutional law there is nothing holding them back.

The fact is ...is that you can love this country without answering any "roll call" or wearing a lapel pin or having to proclaim that fact to anyone.

Fly your flag high if it brings you joy, but careful to ask you neighbor why they do not.

I don't expect you to have any clue of what I am talking about.

I have explained it over and over again. If you do not understand it by now, you never did and never will.

Love of country...any country, is pretty foreign to some.

(no chicken for you)

That was one of the things I loved about international Naval exercises. Each ship was intensely loyal to their flag (country), and were all respected each other for it.

When it was all over, we "ranted and roared like true squidly sailors". (paraphrased from an old sea shanty)

That kind of camaraderie is something few get to experience, but those that do remember it.

For the 5,000th time, that is NOT what I am asking.

I AM asking those that DO, to join me.

Those that do not I could care less why they don't and won't ask either.

I AM asking for those that DO love the US to join me
(there that makes 5,001 times I have had to make that clarification)

If you choose to not answer the roll call then stay home, but don't cuss me for asking others to say out loud and in public that they love the United States.

So far there are only 4.

You are not one of them, I can plainly see. So get back on the porch in the shade where you belong.

We are in good company. I have heard only 3% of the population actually had the BALLS to grab their rifle and fight in the revolution.

Few people have the BALLS to stand up for their beliefs to the consternation of others.

But I know 4 individuals that can, and have.

Here's the problem with your premise and why you probably won't get much of a response. I love my country. But for many (not I), if you disagree with THEIR vision of how the country should be, you DON'T love your country. If you can accept that loving your country is NOT contingent on what your vision of the country should be, I'd bet you'd get MANY saying they love their country.

Ill contend that no matter what this country is, its better than most others if not all others you can name.

In his thread he also mentioned loving the flag and what it symbolizes. I personally love my country and love my flag and what it stands for and symbolizes.

Marines, all soldiers when they give their all come home draped in that flag that in itself is enough for me to feel how I do.

No one agrees with everything their country is and stands for or even all that their country does. You can not be happy with an array of issues, but you still should love your country and be patriotic towards it and you should ALWAYS honor your flag that drapes the coffins of your fellow americans who gave their all.

We are now 5. Welcome to this little grassy hilltop. Regardless of our political leanings, we are all patriotic Americans up here, and that is all that matters.

Stand up for what you believe. You seem to believe people are trying to stop you from doing that. I certainly am not.

You seem to feel strongly that people join you in some sort of symbolic rally...on a debate forum. ...well good luck with your "rally", I hope tons of people come.

no you don't. You have already spoken by your distain for those that have the BALLS to say they love the US. You are NOT one of them.

You hate to see that and have said so.

Now get back out of the sun and back on the porch were you belong.

nipping at our heels makes you look bad.

Only resolute, patriotic men and women are on this hilltop. You know, the kind that build nations.

...AND I LOVE HUMANITY ALSO.

Not too sure I love Donald Trump, though...although I certainly do not dislike him.

Even in the 60's the hippies did what they did out of love for their country and wanted to change the path it was on. History proved them right and they won, but they won because they still loved their country

Most conservatives then, and now believe the hippies were traitors and they hated the US.

I love this country, but lately because of our awful foreign policy over the past 15 years or so I'm liking it less.

We've turned from the World's 'Cop', to the World's 'Bully'. I don't like that.

Oh dear Sir, I have no disdain for you or anyone else on this or any other internet debate forum.

What you are "attempting" to do here in rallying like minded compatriots is neither original nor effective in garnering you a loyal following of DP members.

It is crystal clear that you need a rallying point...and I have become your boogie-man. The dreaded "enemy" to your precious way of life. I don't mind...every Hero needs a foil.

I will be your " porch villain". Your Dragon in need of slaying. You can be the knight in shining armor saving the day for all Humanity.

Politics don't matter much on this hill Frank, only love of country.

Welcome, and now we are 6. I was hoping to see you, my friend.

Care for a thigh or leg?

Come on up, my friend. You will find a whole lot of us agree with you.

We are now 7.

7 strong people that have no problem saying they love the US with all its faults and problems.

We can fix those problems together if we all come from the camp of loving this country, and not wanting it to get any worse. Then fix what is bad.

Only people with BALLS can do that. There are 7 here that can.

When it comes to chicken...I like wings. In other matters, I'm a leg man.

On topic: I think the US takes more indignation and crap (from people around the world and from Americans) than it deserves. We do have a unique place in the world right now...and it is not easy to exercise the muscle we are asked to exercise...without a few situations where we look like bullies.

For the most part, I think we are not. I hope it stays that way!

I don't see you that way at all.

I just see you as someone who disagrees with me, and will NOT say out loud and in public that you love your country.

You are no villain. You are just going with the flow. Most do. They sold geese and wheat to the British during the revolution while the American army went hungry.

That does no make you bad, that just makes you...."average".
