This is like any other post an open discussion, feel free to add more articles to your point, i am always willing to learn, never willing to argue.
Mosque at ground zero.
Yes, stop the presses and bunker down in the nuclear bomb shelter because someone is trying to practice freedom of religion!
Unfortunatly in the united states today we have begun to forget all about some of our most important rights, For those who dont remember the Puritans who came to the united states did so to escape religious percicution. our very own founding fathers declared that we as a country would not discriminate against any other religion. And yet now we appear to have a problem with the Muslim religion.
Of course in the eyes of any average american citizen we have every right to be. The radical islamic world has declared Jihad and tension with the Islamic world has become tight. But what many people fail to realize is that not every member of the islamic religion is a radical terrorist out to destroy the world
To sum it up, Hypocracy thy name is America.
We are strongly opposed to racial profiling when it comes to someone who has not proven "Dangerous" such as the Hispanics from across the border, however in times of war the united states itself becomes radical and terrorises its very own citizens. For example during world war II Japanese-Americans were placed in concentration camps similar to those of the jewish community. The united states would place anyone with the fair tan skin, and oriental background in a harsh environment concentration camp.This was done for the safety of the united states citizen, However with the massive drug cartels, gang wars, and murders throughout southern Arizona California and Texas have proven to be less important than a worship center for the islamic world.
When asking any normal Member of the Islamic faith you will quickly realize that they are no more likely to blow up your house than a family of Mormons. It is unfortunate the events of 9/11. A tragedy that should not be forgotten, but should this tragic event change our countries moral values? The ones we have followed and lived for centuries.
We are forgeting one thing when mentioning Barack Obama's insane disregard to the feelings of our american people....Its not ON ground Zero. The question that must be asked is when does it become ok to build these mosques. Currently we are looking at 8 blocks away (Aproximatly 1 1/2 miles). Surely the feelings of these families should be considered in these decisions, however if we are going to deny the muslims the right to build their mosque, Perhaps we should just close down this portion of Manhattan from all public, within a mile ratius (Or more) close down every buisness, worship center, or future building sites available. Sound crazy? I agree, lets stop being close minded and realize that 1.6 billion people in this world are Islamic, and if they wanted us dead they would find a way. lets be sensitive to the families of 9/11 who for the past 9 years have been forced to live with the memory of the grave incident. However lets also be a little considerate of the Islamic community who for the last 9 years have been viewed as monsters in the eye of society. If we dont let them build this mosque, then please, lets make it official. The United states of america has a required Christian religion, unless of course you are a monster.
This came from a New York times article commenting on the aggression of Californians whom were protesting a muslim worship center, the fact is that we are not trying to respect the families of 9/11, we are just proving to be intolerant.
I am not saying this mosque must be built, and certainly am not saying that it shouldnt. My point today is that if we are going to deny these people the right to worship, then we must also be aware that we are breaking the constitution of the united states of america, and no hidden documents or crooked politicians can prove otherwise.

Now let me assure all of you that i am indeed a Protestant Christian in beliefs, however this does not make what i like to call a "Radical Christian" Or someone who immediatly shuns someone because they are different than you. To all of you i beg and plead like a always will, please be considerate and reasonable human beings, stop being so narrow minded, and for the love of God (Whichever one you believe) Stop blowing me up with your hate, Islam, Christian, or otherwise.
