The money Jeremy Corbyn received from Iran demands an explanation

Corbyn appeared on Press TV five times between 2009 and 2012 and was paid £20,000 (about $27,000). Mr. Corbyn's final Press TV appearance was *six months after* the network had its broadcasting license revoked by Ofcom in January 2012 for airing a forced confession by Newsweek journalist Maziar Bahari. George Galloway, Yvonne Ridley, and Ken Livingstone have also presented on Press TV.

It has been known since at least 2010 (Hadi Rashedi and Hashem Sha’bani) that Press TV mobile-crews film confessions acquired under torture from prisoners with the collaboration of the Ministry of Intelligence and Sepah Intelligence Office. In other words, Press TV is a knowing and willing participant in the Iranian Revolutionary Court cycle of arrest/torture/confession/execution.

And of course every other politician who gets paid to be on TV should do the same right?

Any politician who supposedly embraces humanity and considers human-rights a global cause célèbre should probably avoid a propaganda cesspool like PressTV.

Then again Qatar and Russia aren't exactly models of human rights either and you see politicians from all over the political spectrum appearing on Aljazeera and RT.

The old logical fallacy of false equivalence.

No matter what other nations do, it does not exculpate Iran. Nor does it exculpate Corbyn for entering into a working relationship with PressTV.

Then why is it ok for people to go on Press TV or Aljazeera?

I never consider it okey-dokey for Western politicians to contract with PressTV.

Al-Jazeera, IRNA, TASS, RT, and Sputnik should similarly be avoided.

They are all state-owned media organs that engage in propaganda.

Do you have any proof he was paid for those appearances? Other than BusinessInsider's claim that he was. BI is notorious for not checking its facts.

I suggest you peruse Mr. Corbyn's Parliamentary Register of Interests ledger.

Particularly the entries dated 2 September 2009, 6 September 2010, 6 July 2011, 25 June 2012.
