The McCain Doctrine is a continued attack on the rights of Americans that have been guaranteed by the Constitution. The hypocrisy of John McCain is apparant when he said at a recent speech on the campus of Jerry Falwell's university:
And then submits legislation to restrict free speech on the internet!John McCain's Liberty University address:
"...all people have a right to be free, and that right is not subject to the whims and interests and authority of another person, government or culture."
For democracy to work we must have a "marketplace of ideas". Which is something that will become illegal if we whined up with a President McCain! He's not even honest about his position regarding free speech. He tries to mask it in a bogus cause.McCain Bill Is Lethal Injection For Internet Freedom
Exploits fear of sexual predators and basic misunderstanding of Internet to attack blogs critical of the warmongering agenda he fronts for
Republican Senator John McCain has introduced legislation that would fine blogs up to $300,000 for offensive statements, photos and videos posted by visitors on comment boards, effectively nixing the open exchange of ideas on the Internet, providing a lethal injection for unrestrained opinion, and acting as the latest attack tool to chill freedom of speech on the world wide web.
So I say to McCain, "That's too bad, this is America. Do we have freedom of speech or not?"McCain's proposal is presented under the banner of saving children from sexual predators and encourages informants to shop website owners to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who then pass the information on to the relevant police authorities.
Despite a total lack of any evidence that children are being victimized en mass by bloggers or people who leave comments on blog sites, it seems likely that the proposal will become legislation in some form. It is well known that McCain has a distaste for his blogosphere critics, causing a definite conflict of interest where any proposal to restrict blogs on his part is concerned.
