(SNIP).............Directed by Nick Searcy, best known for starring in FX's "Justified," "Gosnell" tackles the tough story of the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell with nuanced gravitas and artistic deftness. While assuming that most people are familiar with the story, I'm not going to provide much background information so as not to publish spoilers. For the sake of this review, Dr. Kermit Gosnell ran an abortion clinic in Philadelphia that was shut down after he was arrested for a myriad of crimes. And that's where Gosnell begins, with the lead-up to and raid on Dr. Gosnell's clinic. Ending with the trial completed, "Gosnell" is a stirring call to value and protect life
Beginning with the screenplay, penned by Andrew Klavan, Phelim McAleer, and Ann McElhinney, "Gosnell" resists the temptation to devolve into a melodramatic serial killer movie. In large part because of the tone set by the tightly constructed screenplay that never once waivers off point, Searcy and his cast are able to deliver an entertaining movie that also calls the viewer to think and feel deeply about the presence of the evil of abortion in our society, but without using cheap dramatic tactics to manipulate the audience's emotions. Everything is earned honestly in "Gosnell."
An important tactic of the filmmakers was focusing on the events of the trial and not allowing "Gosnell" to become an overt pro-life propaganda piece. You see, it doesn't need to be. Even though the characters assert throughout the film that abortion is not on trial, the viewer knows that it is. And this is why the MSM is mostly silent about this excellent movie, and why you should go see it. Taking on abortion in such a powerful and artistically excellent way poses a grave threat to the MSM's love of the leftist agenda
"Gosnell" is at its best when Searcy trains the camera on Assistant District Attorney (ADA) Alexis McGuire (played by Sarah Jane Morris) and Dr. Kermit Gosnell (played by Earl Billings). The two represent good and evil, yet both present a complex picture of good and evil........(SNIP)
(SNIP)........Now, a new film set for release tells this grisly story, including how arrogant Gosnell was during the investigation and subsequent trial. And while the movie doesn’t take a hard pro-life stance – it’s not political – the Left is nevertheless terrified of the impression it will leave in the minds of millions of Americans who see it, especially now that there is a rock-solid conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
As such, the usual suspects – big tech, the mainstream media, and the Left-wing entertainment industry – are doing all they can to censor the movie, “Gosnell: America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” because, you know, they’re all about the First Amendment when it isn’t being used to skewer one of the Left’s sacred cows.
As Infowars notes, Facebook has already refused to allow filmmakers to advertise the film on their platform. And one of the more popular crowdfunding sites, Kickstarter, have refused them as well. In addition, National Public Radio (which is taxpayer-funded) also refused to carry ads for the film.
NPR’s problem with the ads? They won’t allow filmmakers to call Gosnell two things that honestly and truthfully describe him: An “abortionist” and a “murderer.”
Besides these censorship efforts, the filmmakers have also been stopped from showing the film in private screenings........(SNIP)

Gosnell is no more representative of abortion practitioners than that crazy family that locked their 13 kids in a room all the time starved them (in CA) are.
He's not more representative of abortion than that nutter woman in Houston that drowned all her kids.
The list is long of parents treating their kids horrendously. Of killing their own kids.
So should we make having kids illegal then? Just because a few, terrible criminals will always exist?

And Gosnell's crimes were not normal abortions, that's why they were crimes.
You just *like* to USE his example because it's inflammatory and outrageous because the reality of abortion is almost 100% the opposite of that and wont be 'upsetting' to people and falsely change their views.
Parents killing their kids is a very ugly side of parenting...when are we stopping people from reproducing?

And you know full well that elective late term abortions in the US are virtually zero. Crimes are outliers and in general cannot be prevented.
Did you read the OP? It's dishonestly trying to connect the realities of abortion today with a murdering monster.
The pro-life side likes to lie and say that that is how most abortions are. That 'live little innocent babies' are ripped to pieces in the womb, feeling and aware. Or are ripped from the womb whole and then killed. It's despicable and dishonest. It's shows a sick mind that dwells on something so horrible.
And it's all a lie to relate it to legal abortion procedures. They like to throw that how there for the horrific emotional value, when in reality, 97.5% of all abortions take place early term and consists of a pea-sized unborn being flushed painlessly from the womb. Any late term abortions use an injection so there is no pain...and NO elective late term abortions take place...they are all out of medical necessity.
So the OP wanted to create the dishonest impression that Gosnell's actions are the true picture of abortion...a blatant lie by someone who claims to be against abortion because of his religion. A religion that also considers lying and judging a sin. :doh
