Illinois had 2500 cases per day at the beginning of their mask mandate, 9757 yesterday. They are setting a great example and having consistent messaging. In New York State in the last 14 days case counts are up by 54%, deaths are up by 89%. Thank God they too are setting a great example and have consistent messaging. It really works, doesn't it?

The only way we could tell with certainty if mask usage worked well enough to suit you would be to have two very similar but isolated populations, one wearing masks, the other not, and compare the results.

As I replied to you previously, testing out the wazoo was key, but we may have blown past that opportunity- the virus has already found millions of hosts.

Yes, if we had tests available early on when cases were limited we may have been able to nip the virus in the bud. But, pretty much everywhere in the world the virus is out of control and surging. And, we didn't have the tests available early on. No one had millions and millions of them. They had to be invented first and then replicated in mass quantity. Just as it has taken months to come up with a vaccine, you can't come up with hundreds of millions of tests overnight. It takes time.

Dude, here in TEXAS, which is a RED State, we are shutting down and reducing openings because......our Hospitals are being overwhelmed and the deaths are climbing to new levels. And yes we have a mask mandate, but the fact of the matter is too many Morons still will not wear them as if they are special and the State still refuses to enforce the mandates. The problem is not the wearing of masks the problem is some Morons won't wear them, as such it is them that are to blame for businesses having to roll back their openings and it is them that is to blame for the increase in cases, hospitalizations, suffering, and deaths. Enforce the wearing of masks with real fines and watch people comply, and watch the cases go down and businesses reopen at 100% capacity, don't then enjoy where we are for at least 6 more months, those are the choices.
