This is the beginning of a series of post I will be making titled The hypocrisy and Harm of the Left in the US. This intro is #0.

My intent is to address the double standards and ill thought out ideals of the Left through a specific issue each thread. I do not mean to attack anyone and start petty arguments but am here to give my minority opinion to this majority left leaning site.

With that said, I would actually like to address my first major issue with the modern left.

#0 This is the demonization of Republicans and right wing ideals. Obviously you do not need to agree with their ideals but why can we not agree that both sides want the best for the country?? You don't need to think their ideas will actually bring about the best for the country but you should understand that their intention is to bring about the best policy for Americans. Do you actually think half the country thinks that we shouldn't get vaccinated, have abortions or safety net policies out of some petty choice to go against the left and uphold an opinion they don't actually like??? That seems like a very self centric look at the world in seeing your opposition as purely existing to oppose your 'correct' ideas. These are actual people, families, mothers, fathers, who just want the best for their community. Really it is this demonization of the opposite party that makes it so hard for people to reach across the aisle and come to an agreement and make concessions. For examples a Democrat might think a Republican is disgusting for not wanting abortions, because you think they are infringing on women's rights, which is just not tolerable. But this Republican thinks you are committing murder... The point is however appalled you are at someone's opinion, they probably are too, so it doesn't make you better. The only thing that will get us anywhere is focusing on why they actually think that or else its just this screaming match of "you're a mysogonist!!"" and "you're a murderer!!!""
and before someone post that Republicans demonize left wingers too, I am not arguing that that doesn't happen but there is clearly more so from the left when they use hyperbolic labels for the right as white supremacist, fascist, morons, inbreds, Nazis, and whole slew of labels on a regular basis that make it really ease to just outright oppose people ideas without actually thinking about what they have to say. It has become commonplace and part of the mainstream to demonize Republicans. I’m targeting left leaning people here one because they are the majority, and two because I have grown up in an extremely left leaning environment and watched people go from opposing Republicans to outright hating them.

It's this sense of moral superiority that runs rabid through the left leaning populace.

If you don't believe in climate change to the extent I do, you are a monster and you want the end of the world!!!!
If you don't want abortions you hate women liberation!!!!
If you don't agree with vaccine mandates then you are a killer!!!!!
If you don't agree with social safety net policies you only care about yourself and you aren't empathetic!!!!!
If you don't support BLM you are a racist!!!!!
Its so easy to be right and righteous when you think these things. Like do you seriously think that right wing people don't have actual reasons for why they think these things that they, as you?????? I could come up with an opposite claim of outrage towards leftist for each of these, but I understand your points.

---With that said, that leads me to the next idea about labels which is that the only acceptable group of Americans to make fun of are poor/middle class white conservatives from the Midwest/South. They are the only Americans in which it's ok to impersonate their voices, culture, vices, dress, music, etc. I think that is despicable, it's all of US or none of US. It's not even like you can make fun of the other half of whites, the left, because it's offensive, but it's not offensive to make fun of a troubled, poor, white male from a trailer. Makes no sense.

---- That segways me into the next idea that connects all of these is the extreme bias in our society with left leaning ideas. The left is the majority and people exist in echo chambers and they act like their ideas are new and under oppression when they are absurdly the majority, it makes no sense.

Six companies own 90% of the media and 5 of the 6 are left leaning.
All of the Major Social Media's companies are overwhelmingly left leaning.
Democratic professors outnumber Republicans 10 to 1.

Why is the majority demonizing the minority???? Isn't that considered wrong by your party's own ideology?????

So my point is that why can't we understand we all want the best for the country??

Perhaps because the r states are overrepresented in Congress and their actions don't represent the majority of the country.

No one demonizes the GOP or even 'right wing'. I am a conservative Republican myself. What is demonized is the Trump Party, not to be confused (which it often IS) with the GOP.

I don't see this happening except with total deniers
If you don't want abortions you hate women liberation!!!!
Don't see this either, except on extreme sides of the continuum
If you don't agree with vaccine mandates then you are a killer!!!!!
nope------same
If you don't agree with social safety net policies you only care about yourself and you aren't empathetic!!!!!
same---------I know of no conservatives (except, again, on the extremes) that disagree with ALL safety nets
If you don't support BLM you are a racist!!!!!
same.........

extremely few think these things that I have seen........just disagree with your` claims

Idk where you are in California they most certainly are.

There are entire threads on here where people say that we are better off without people who don't want vaccines.

There are a lot the disagree with implementation of new ones

I'm sure you don't want me on here, but I'll lurk for the laughter.
what 90% of people on here do with over 1,000 messages. Quips, jokes and one liners. Why don't we go to twitter at that point.

I talk plenty on here, you should be happy I'm not participating. I happen to be really bent on the "new" conservatives at the moment. It would be unhealthy, and I'd probably get an infraction.
Ask your friends, they'll confirm it. ☺️ Good luck with your feelings.

Pile of bullshit. Pure and simple.
Hypocritical bullshit, too. Starts off decrying the left demonizing the right and goes on to demonize the left.
Tells us, at least, the value of your opinions.

I think the problem here is that some on the right see any pushback on their ideas as a reason to claim they're victims.
They claim to be tough independent types who don't need government but they cry like babies as soon as anyone disagrees with them, even other conservatives who they instantly label as RINO's.
There's zero room for nuance of thought for them it's toe the line 100% at all times or your out.

It's why they love Trump so much because he embodies this idea that only complete capitulation to his ideas is acceptable and he'll happily throw even his most ardent supporters under the bus the instant they disagree.

I can see quite a split happening in the Republican party with those for and against Trump tearing the party apart and yet they'll still somehow blame liberals for their problems.
As an outsider it's fascinating to watch a party implode so spectacularly and openly into civil war.

No over represented in reality. Check the population of the Dakotas and Wyoming, for example. Three times the senators and a fraction of the people in California. Electoral college is skewed as well tho not nearly as much.
Country is supposed to protect the minority its a good thing

Its not about disagreeing its that often right wing opinions are labeled as not empathetic, as racist, as fascist instead of different means to the same end,

Yes, and anyone on the left is labelled as a communist.
The right doesn't have a monopoly on being called names and considering how often conservatives call everyone snowflakes is ironic to see them claim victimhood at every possible opportunity.

Idk where you are in California they most certainly are.
???????huh??
There are entire threads on here where people say that we are better off without people who don't want vaccines.
that is different than what you are claiming---------that is a valid assessment. If all had the vaccine, there would have been fewer deaths, suffering, etc, etc

Grotesquely over represented, in fact. I know people from Wyoming that think they're entitled to a vote for every acre of land they own. The entire population of that state could comfortably fit in Staten Island, the single least populated borough of the Big Apple. Just imagine if they had equal representation. There would be 16 SENATORS for New York City alone !! Think about it.

The compromise that produced the two houses was understandable historically, when we were 13 colonies hugging the Atlantic, and the way I heard it, more rural areas distrusted big cities. I assume that fear of the great unwashed in cities is also behind why so many state capitols are not in that state’s major city: NY, IL, etc.

Hyperbole, on steroids.

The rabble rousers on the right tell you what the left is saying . It is like when your supposed buddies tell you what the other guy said about you just to get you into a fight.

Indeed. I get the historical reasons. But it isn't just Senators. Wyoming, for example, gets a Congressman representing 580,760 people. New York State gets a Congressman for every 720,370 people. To be fair, NY State should get at least 6 more Congressmen, too.
