The House has passed a resolution supporting the people of Ukraine, 426-3

Because they are serving big oil to ignore the threat to the climate and demand unlimited oil drilling and use, and are using the Ukraine crisis to justify it.

That sounds right.

The USG is using Ukraine for a power play in more than one way.

I guess they needed a resolution to say "We support you".

However, there's no need to cut off all of Russias energy exports or his banks access to SWIFT.

Virtue Signalling.
His? You mean Putin's?

It doesn't matter how the other 200+ Republicans voted.

They didn't stand by Ukraine during Trump's first impeachment trial, when Trump tried to blackmail Ukraine.

I don't think this represents that, though. It's just a sort of pandering to the right-wing agenda helping get an almost unanimous vote.

That's not really a concession to get their votes on this resolution. Power play; and power takes the energy which comes from burning oil. Wars and militarism don't run on solar and wind power. Same old outdated US militarism and domination of the globe and Earth. The most dangerous corporation on Earth.

You mean when he asked the Ukraine leader if he had any information about possible illegal activities concerning the son of a former VP? One who we all know received millions for advising and oil company. Oh, one that he knew nothing about the company, the oil business, or the language?

Just what the ukrainians need to fight the Russia's... blankets and virtue signaling resolution.

Meanwhile Xiden is still funding the war via buying their oil

What is that opinion based on? The resolution changes no policy, it's just a political statement. That's exactly what it seems like, giving Republicans something to get their votes.

Putin’s in your closet and under your bed too.
That's some serious agility. A dude who lives rent free in your head also finds time to hide in someone else's closet and/or underneath their bed. Do you suppose Putin adopts the same nutritional and pharmacological regime followed by Russian Olympic athletes?

Not sure about the other two, but Gosar is a complete **** that can't bring himself to be decent about anything at all.
The last guy?

Go away, troll.

It appears he's blowning up a lot of kid's beds.

Are your kids safe?

The oil is safe. The Russian oil being exported to the US and EU.

I guess Joe Biden isn't concerned about dead kids. Also, key Russian banks aren't cut off from SWIFT.

Thank Joe Brandon for the money Putin needs to keep the invasion going.

Tell him to deal with the socks and underwear while he's there.

You should email him. But FYI, he's counting the money from oil sales to the US and EU.

The House passed a resolution on Wednesday to declare support for Ukraine's sovereignty in the face of the invasion ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin, while urging an "immediate cease-fire." Lawmakers in both parties voted near-unanimously in favor of the resolution, 426-3. The only votes in opposition were from three Republicans: Reps. Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Matt Rosendale (Mont.). Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said it was "unreal" that three fellow Republicans voted against the resolution. The resolution, which is nonbinding, states that the House "stands steadfastly, staunchly, proudly, and fervently behind the Ukrainian people in their fight against the authoritarian Putin regime." It also calls for the U.S. and its allies "to deliver additional and immediate defensive security assistance to help Ukraine address the armored, airborne, and other threats Ukraine is currently facing from Russian forces." The resolution further asserts that American lawmakers "will never recognize or support any illegitimate Russian-controlled leader or government installed through the use of force."

It's not at all surprising to me that 3 Republicans voted no on supporting a battered Ukraine that will likely see civilian deaths in the tens of thousands due to Putin's invasion.
