There seems to be a disconnect between Trump's claiming the Mayor of Memphis is welcoming his military incursion into Memphis, and what the Mayor is saying to the public on national news.

actually the concept there was to point out that trump is improperly obsessing over chicago in the blue state of IL versus cities with higher crime rates like memphis in the red state of TN...because of political theater.
its unclear to me that people pointing that out actually wanted them sent to memphis either.

The difference between this mayor and Chicago's Johnson, is - unfortunately - this guy has no Governor behind him. In fact, his Gov threw him under the bus!

The next military step for Memphis, after "protecting from crime", will be "protecting election integrity".

The Louisiana Gov & Legislature would love to see the Dem Blue city's vote suppressed! It stands between them and complete state & national office control.
 
Tennessee Republicans ‘cracked’ the Nashville CD in 2021 for an 8-1 delegation with Memphis next.
They just cracked the Kansas City CD, stole 5 in Texas, and have IN and OH on deck.
That is just one battle in their declared war on Democrats called Project 2025.
But Democrats must not voice any opposition to this fascist Supreme Court.
 
If he believes the National Guard is needed to invade an American city because of an 'out of control outbreak of crime' (which has not occurred) then why doesn't he just do it instead of talking about it? What kind of 'emergency' gives him time to make an ongoing very public political case for doing it?

Let's put it this way. If people and property are in danger then why are you not acting right away, Donald?

And if he's not doing so promptly, then it's all about the rhetoric.

I find it hard to believe MAGA cannot see the "higher level" concepts involved. I hate to use the term "higher-level", as these are pretty simply & basic concepts!

I'll just add - this started back in 2010 with Project REDMAP. It's been highly effective.

Yes, REDMAP 2010, when Democrats forgot to vote in a catastrophic census remap and reapportionment.
You’re certainly aware how gerrymandered Wisconsin has been since 2011, with a 6-2 GOP delegation, and a worse statehouse.

While Madison is always high-turnout, Milwaukee will always disappoint.
Madison also saw a smaller margin for Harris due to the #Abandon morons.
