The gun lover's creed

It makes a good deal of sense. The NRA has gone to great lengths to create a gun culture in America. For over 30 years, they've tried to make us believe guns should be as much a part of everyday life as any other common artifact. The result has been a belief that guns are harmless until someone makes a deliberate decision to use one. All too often, though, guns drive the decision. Instead of someone who already as decided to kill choosing to do it with a gun, the availability of a gun has led the decision to kill. Guns make killing safe, easy and fast. That makes important to those who would rather do something easy than something hard.

Really?

Do you have any credible info to back up that statement? Or is it just your opinion?

Thank God for the 2nd. amendment, and thank God for the NRA and the gun industry. My right to own a gun is more important than anything else.

You aren't accomplishing anything unless you're goal is to just piss people off.

Yeah those crazy gun owners, don't they know that no goberment in the history of man kind has never turned on its people,so there is nothing to fear to from only the goberment and criminals being armed. Heck if only the goberment had guns then we all could be safe from criminals.Goberments are our friends man, so we have nothing to fear from them. And that thar con-stee-too-shun was written by white racist slave owning sexist men several hundred years ago,so none of that stuff in it applies to todays time.

Deliberately misspelling "government" doesn't help your argument at all.

Your whole country is being supplied with vast numbers of guns by the death-merchants, as you know, and local ordinances hardly matter. Shoot a few of the NRA nutters and they'll soon come to heel.

I don't think so. The gun cult have made rationalization an art form. They can find a way to make any gun killing the natural and reasonable result of any circumstance where it occurs.

My opinion.

However, it's consistent with the idea of marginality. At the margin, some will kill because guns make killing easier. If they had only axes, for instance, the would forgo the killing because axes are heavy and the killings would be rather messy.

I'm certainly glad...for the UK's sake...that you are not their King.

In any event, here in the US, we frown on murder as a means of implementing public policy.

I am less in favour of the UK than I am of you gun-nutters, we don't have a king, and if we did, like our Queen, he would have no power. I obviously intend the legal execution of all you accessories. Fortunately, those who are so gutless that they have to carry bang-bangs will soon be scared into decency.

I see what you mean. Good to hear from someone with his head screwed on!

I first bumped-into the internet gun cult in 1994 on USENET in talk.politics.guns. Since then, they've never failed to amaze me with their creativity in defending any gun thing. More bullets in the magazine, easier availability, fewer restrictions. Nothing but nothing is a step too far.

No end to human creativity in a bad cause!
