A White House spokesman called July’s 7.4 percent unemployment rate proof that “the U.S. economy is continuing to recover from the worst downturn since the Great Depression.” He said it with a straight face.

The data tell another story: America remains mired in the Great Obama Depression.

The unemployment rate that the administration trumpets is a liar’s number. The formula for the unemployment figure that is released every month is rigged to look favorable to the administration in power.

The true numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a far different picture. They show an America that is in economic collapse.

The unemployment rate did not drop because there were more jobs in July. It fell because there were fewer people looking for jobs. The civilian labor force fell by approximately 37,000 workers. The people who are not in the labor force has climbed to 89,957,000; almost ninety million American adults are not in the workforce. Even worse, the number of discouraged workers rose to almost one million. “Discouraged worker” is the term for people who want to be in the workforce but have given up on looking for jobs because they believe no jobs are available.

There is one other devastating figure that most people are not talking about. In June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that only 47 percent of American adults had full-time jobs.

Fewer than half of Americans are working full time!

That should be a headline. Instead it is ignored.

Part time jobs are not the solution to unemployment in America. Families cannot support themselves and afford ObamaCare. This is the Fundamental Transformation spoke of a poor subservient America.

By increasing the minimum wage to $25, we can eliminate the need for full time jobs. Problem solved:roll:

By increasing the minimum wage to $100, we can insure prosperity for all. Chickens in every garage.;)

Question. Is it not true that this is how every unemployment rate has been calculated whether it be Bush or Obama? The "real facts" you speak of are also being delivered by the BLS, people just need to look. There is always misleading facts in the media, I go to MSNBC and see one thing hailing Obama and then over at Fox you see Obama being crucified for the same exact number.

What never fails to amaze me.. is how my fellow conservatives can scream about government staying out of business... and then scream why isn't Obama fixing business?

the facts are this. the economy didn't tank because of the government, and its not going to be the government that's going to get us out of the ditch.

Do you realize how idiotic your statement is. Who will pay for what you propose? It becomes a destructive cycle

Be careful how you address me Werewolf. Unless you wish to be called idiotic, don't use the term freely.

As an adult, and I question that in your case, you should recognize  and ;) as sarcasm indicators.

That people believe the above is why we will never get government's hands out of everything and get back to a strong economy.
