THE COST OF A POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION

If there is one key element to any society or economy it is Education.

It is therefore almost impossible to understand why free-education stops at high-school. In this day-and-age with Manufacturing long since gone to China, what in heavens name is an American child to do to earn a decent education if not get a post-secondary diploma?

And frankly, why isn't it free, gratis and for nothing. I live in Europe and the post-secondary education (4 year degree) does not cost nothing. But almost nothing. In France, the cost of such a degree looks like this at all its levels:
  • 170 euros per year for a Bachelor's Degree
  • 243 euros per year for a Master's Degree;
  • 601 euros total for an engineering degree
  • 380 euros per year for a Doctorate.

Of course, other countries may charge other rates but I doubt they are largely-different from those rates above ...

So, now, be careful of the Yank Replicants who try to convince you that Socialist Europe is the Devil's Den ...

PS: The above low rates are possible because France, nor any other nation in the European Union, spends a Great-Wad of money on something called the "DoD".
PPS: From here about the costs in the US:
The cost of a master's degree differs between public and private institutions. Usually, private institutions charge higher tuition fees. The average cost of a master's degree in public institutions is $12,410 per year. The average cost of a master's degree in private nonprofit institutions is $28,430.

Nothing is 'free'. Someone's paying for it.
