Bill Hickman was the driver of the Dodge R/T in the film Bullitt starring Steve McQueen. He was a stunt driver and did all the driving in that great chase scene. Ironically, he was James Deans teacher on how to drive fast. He was behind Dean when Dean was killed in an auto accident and was first to arrive at the scene. Dean died in his arms.

The Charger driver always reminded me of my FIL. You know it’s on when he buckles his lap belt!

Watch for a pine green Volkswagen as the chase happens. You will see it more than once. I counted three times. I love flick flubs and I am good at spotting them.

He also drove the big Pontiac in the seven ups car chase, which is, imo, the best car chase ever filmed.

How many hubcaps did the Charger lose?
