The fascination by the left with Sarah Palin.....

A moderate can't win. People will just stay home.

No, that won't happen. If the Republicans put up a moderate, they will give Obama the best run for his money. If they put up an extreme conservative, or a tea party candidate, Obama will crush them.

I tend to agree with this. The problem is that in todays primary heavy nominating process, you first must win lots of smaller elections where the electorate is skewed to the wings of that party rather than to the center where the crucial Independent voters are to be found. On the GOP side, this is why we get right wingers like Christine O'Donnell, Sharon Angle and so many others who went down to defeat a time when the GOP scored otherwise big victories all across the land.

This reality of the primary season gives an advantage to somebody like Palin over a moderate like Romney or Pawlenty who would indeed have a stronger chance to win in November.

Really this doesn't matter. You've spent several post talking about other things and not answering my original question. Can you give me a link to Palin giving a detailed analysis of a public policy?

While this is not a detailed analysis, it is as close as you're likely to get on someone who is not currently a candidate for any office, major or minor. This is from 2008.
Sarah Palin on the Issues

I copied only a few below... ones I think might surprise some on the left.

  • Constitution does offer an inherent right to privacy.
  • Pro-contraception, pro-woman, pro-life.
  • Taxpayers cannot be looked to as Wall Street bailout.
  • Vetoed bill denying benefits to gays, as unconstitutional.
  • Supports charter schools, home schools, & other alternatives.
  • First and foremost, we must become energy independent.
  • Fund cellulosic biofuel research in Farm Bill.
  • Convince the rest of the nation to open ANWR.
  • No state-mandated religion, but public faith is ok.
  • Greater competition, more choices, and less litigation (healthcare)
  • Only a very small percent of Islamic believers are extreme.
  • Economic sanctions on North Korea for nukes.

Yep, definitely not what I was looking for. A detailed answer why she believes those things would be nice. If something like that is out there to be found.

I assume you'd like to see the same thing from everyone who is not running for a political office? Or is it just Palin?

I'd like to see that from anyone who has this many people wanting her to be president.

When I first joined the board during the 2008 primaries, I would compare the big three candidates(McCain, Obama and Clinton) from their websites issues area. I complained that all three where far too vague, and all three where much more detailed than your list.

And who's "core values" are these exactly?

Here are some more clues for you.

They talk about me like a dog. They can ride along. They can get in the back.
I wouldn't want my daughter punished with a baby. My first priority as president, will be to sign the "Freedom of Choice " act.

Below is someone who's core values I can support.

It was a holding onto a seed of ...that promise that things will be okay if we choose life.
I would council someone to hopefully choose life
Hope springs eternal” as the poet says. Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they [media] might get it right next time.

Basically nothing more than pro life rhetoric eh? Nothing substantial.

Here is how Obama became Senator. Don't know much of what he did AS senator.

Obama's campaign focused on a positive platform that sparked new voters, stressing unity and reform of government programs to assist state residents. He made public statements against the war in the Middle East and vowed that he would expand the federal role in supplying social programs. This position drew charges of socialism from Keyes.

Here is what Palin said when she was running for governor
My choice is to take a stand and effect change – not hit our heads against the wall and watch valuable state time and money, millions of your dollars, go down the drain in this new environment. Rather, we know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time, on another scale, and actually make a difference for our priorities – and so we will, for Alaskans and for Americans.

She ran on cleaning up government.
Here's just a couple things she accomplished as Governor in the words of a grateful Alaskan. Given a choice between Obama and Palin, I know who I'd choose.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewable by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up. I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la" (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

re:RE Sara Palin (All over)

If he is anything like me

You don't outright defend expanded Socialism. Navy Pride has. Several times.

I think it's pretty safe to say that "undisclosed" and "others" are usually liberals, socialist, or worse.

Not really. Navy Pride calls those who want to end the Bush Medicare expansion liberals despite the fact that such expansion actually was Socialism. Not to mention he calls those who point out how Tri-Care is actually Socialism leftwingers. He defines the terms as anyone who disagrees with him on anything. When you attack government programs he likes, you're a liberal to him.

Run Sarah, Run.
The people who are really afraid of Sarah Palin are the Republlican party.

Perhaps, if you mean the country club Republicans running the party; funny it was the ultimate-RINO that brought her to the dance.

But republicans, the voters afraid of her... no. RINO's perhaps.

If she runs and doesn't win, she will have ensured the discourse during the primaries has a rightward, Tea Party influence. That's a huge positive. We don't need another RINO winning the nomination. If she wins, we know where she stands... shoulder to shoulder with Reagan... a strong position to hold.

With all due respect your chosen to be on the ticket......The person running for president is the candidate....Have you taken the time to hear her speak lately? She has long been more qualified then Hussein Obama who has never managed anything...........

Problem, though, is when she took a state governorship which her electorate deemed she was qualified for, she threw it away to pursue other opportunities.

She's disloyal, can't be trusted.

I'm sure that there are Alaskans who feel that way and it's too bad.
She did what she thought best for Alaska. I believe her approval rating for her time in office ranged between 93%-53%. Pretty impressive I'd say. Probably a record of some kind for any Governor.

Perhaps you could give an example. Where could we find a detailed analysis of Obama's public policy?

Krauthammer is getting a bit weary of the Palin fasination from the left, and he's not a fan of hers. (yet).
To me, it seems the more the left tries to discredit her as a worthy candidate, the more the right seems to like her.
I know I've been convinced to vote for as things stand now. Before I just wanted her to campaign for someone else.

Sarah Palin : Fire Andrea Mitchell!

SUCCESS!!!!! High fives all around lefties.

Some of you Palin fans will simply have to make up your minds. Either she's a political force that democrats must recognize or she's a wee little private citizen that doesn't warrant scrutiny. Figure it out, then let observers know which side of the fence you pick.

The left's "fascination" with Palin is only equal to the right's "fascination" with all that is The Obama Administration. :doh

Sarah Palin's latest moronic mindfart: “@sarahpalinusa Inexplicable: I recently won in court to stop my book "America by Heart" from being leaked, but US Govt can't stop Wikileaks' treasonous act?”

She is stupid beyond words.

People who support her are pathetic.

Poking fun of Sarah Palin is so 2008. I'm fine with her as long as she remains in the kitchen with the rest of the Kim Kardashians, Lindsay Lohans and Justin Biebers.

The Obama administration can effect every aspect of our lives. They need to be scrutinized at all times. Palin has no such power. (yet)
