Juan Williams Becoming Conservative: Left is close minded, harsh and vicious

One of the benefits of these past couple years is the explosion of the myth Republicans are the intolerant ones.
The money quote starts at the 50sec mark.

Lieberman being run out of the party because he was the only D to support The War on Terror made it clear how far gone the Left had become.

Its stuff like this that must have pissed-off the NPR folks. Flipping through the comments you find him called an Uncle Tom, sell-out, or both. I think many at NPR probably thought the same and were looking for something to give him the pink slip. Certainly his firing wasn't about one incident where he expressed his honest opinion.

Helen Thomas.

Nuff said. Hypocrite.

Thomas's parting senile comments were essentially a call for the State of Israel to cease to exist. Is that what you'd like to see also(???)

Last I checked, an employer has the right to dismiss an employee at will.

I think most Conservatives and Libertarians support that position.

1. Click "Advanced Search" at the top of the forum.
2. Under "Keyword(s)" type "Israel".
3. Under "Username" type "Khayembii Communique"
4. Hit "Search Now"

Now stop asking me stupid questions and following me around the forum asking me about my politics.

Re: The Far Left is "...far more viscious and personal... than anything on the right.

Good for you, Zimmer, use a guy who is scared of people wearing "muslim garb" to support your argument!

What'll you think of next, monkeys flinging their own poop?

Somebody's got a crush on Khayembii Communique.

Are you gonna pull his hair next?

True but NPR is on the public dime.

My comment is this; Politics is mean, nasty and full of blood, if you cant take the heat then get out of the fire.

I.m not to worried about the hallow threats coming from the right wing politicians about NPR.

Yeah. Don't see anyone saying they didn't have the "right" to do this.

This is what we know as non sequitur, Of course you will have to look up what it means.

You have this a little bit wrong. As a former employer in 4 States I can tell you an employer must have guide lines and rules of conduct laid out in a hand book or the like for employees to follow, and terminations cannot in California, for example be just because the boss wanted to fire you. It must follow certain rules and be for a specific reason, and in most cases unless a way over the top violation of a policy, give the employee fair warning, known as taking corrective action. That generally is for any one even without a contract, unless the laws have changed since I left that profession, which is entirely possible. With a contract most of those will spell out what the employer considers just cause or even that you may be fired for any reason, but still there must be a just cause. Lay offs are completely different but also have rules that must be followed under federal guide lines.

The reason NPR used seems to be a legitimate reason to fire Juan in this case except they may have a problem in that if Juan were to take them into a civil Court because of a very serious double standard:

This was years ago and this hateful "person" is still there.

Juan is no Conservative in my book, but he seems to be a reasonable thinking Liberal which is a very rare commodity indeed.

Juan is also as right as rain that Liberals are the hateful ones and we see it in this Forum every day because it is true the Liberals can not ever deal with the truth, the facts, or reality. Just look at Obama and how he has to constantly lie because the truth won't set you free when you lied to get there it only trips you up and when it does even Obama goes into the name calling and nasty hateful mode Juan was talking about.

Say what you will about President Bush being an idiot and in some cases I might and do agree but Obama is a hateful, name calling. liar, who after over two years is still unqualified, for the job, mentally, educationally, and intellectually.

I love this one and will be using it a lot.

Re: The Far Left is "...far more viscious and personal... than anything on the right.

You guys are a bunch of hypocrites, who backed Bill Maher when he was fired from ABC for his comments? Or that professor - Ward Churchill? You pick and choose.

Ronald Reagan would never have said such a thing to a competitor who was comporting himself the way Obama was in that ad.

Way to besmirch the reputation of your Dear Leader.

Well, let's see . . .

Bill Maher said he was sorry that the assassination attempt on Dick Cheney failed.

Ward Churchill, besides being a total fraud, said the people in the World Trade Center were "little Eichmanns" who deserved to die.

Williams said he gets nervous on a plane when he sees people who present themselves as Muslims first, and that he thinks it's a shame that he does.

Yes. Perfectly comparable.

Actually Reagan has said very similar things that Obama spoke of. Those who don't know their history are doomed to make asses of themselves.

Shh! Don't wake them up, they get cranky if they don't get their nap.

Re: The Far Left is "...far more viscious and personal... than anything on the right.

You know why the Left is more vicious and personal?
Because the majority of women are over there.
(a bit of a joke - but some truth, too)

(I'm digressing. . .)
Juan's a dumbass, though (this isn't a new thought of mine, either - I've always thought that about him)
Last night he rattled off a list of reasons why women are in the democrat party - and it wasn't remotely on spot. He brought up "they're the ones who shop more, spend more . . pay the bills, blah blah"

What he doesn't get is that Republican / Conservative = Anti-women's Liberation and Women's rights in the minds and hearts of MANY women. To many women the notion of being a Conservative = being June Cleaver. . . some sort of submissive pearl wearing housewife with no brain your head - but heels on your feet.

(gee - where could this view possibly come from? *I have no clue* But something tells me that conservative women tend to foster this by using RED STILETTOS for their logos: http://www.nocw.org/)

He's suppose to be some sort of a smart guy but he's a downright retarded idiot when it comes to assessing REAL issues.

Depends on the state you live in.

Interesting perspective on Williams. Been watching him for several years and have pretty much the opposite opinion. ;)

Don't agree with a lot of his views, (I sport the evil Conservative moniker) but he always struck me as a standup guy on voicing his positions. One of the things that impressed me with him is that when he is in a contested discussion he seems to listen as well speak. Which typically leads to an actual dialog. (that is more and more rare in our modern day debates.)

Think he will add some nice balance at his new "full time" home with FoxNews. Really don't imagine him "becoming a conservative" when he gets over there.

Re: The Far Left is "...far more viscious and personal... than anything on the right.

During the height of the Iraq War, the Far Right asserted that liberals were actively and deliberately working to achieve terrorist goals, and listed names of particular liberal politicians and social activists who were instrumental to the effort. Somehow that plot thread got dropped, and now we're in the part of the story about the relentless march of communism. Liberals more or less support terrorism on one hand and introduce socialism with the other.

In that context, it is hard to believe that anything the Far Left does can be exponentially worse than anything the Far Right does.

I did back Bill Maher as much as I hate the guy. I believe in free speech, even if it's speech I disagree with.
Have you ever stood up for speech you disagreed with?

He probably will never be a Conservative, but he now knows his real friends are conservative. They like him in spite of his politics.
I can't count how many times I've heard him called a "stand up guy,"and it's a very good discription of him.
I hope he gets over being angry and hurt soon though. It was getting a little difficult to watch last night. He hosted the O'Reilly Factor and it felt like he was yelling the whole time. Tone it down a little Juan.

For the longest time, the "Factor" was about yelling, and perhaps still is.
