In People Magazine, 1998, Trump said that if he ran for president, it would as a Republican because he found them to be the dumbest people in the country. They will believe anything Fox News tells them and he said he could lie to them and they will eat it up.

I got fooled by that same thing. It is not real, yet rings so true it is easy to believe. I'm afraid Trump only thought that way and never revealed it to the press. But you have to blame the GOP for letting him do his "birther" thing without a peep. Anyone could see that those supporters were not the brightest and Trump felt he could get enough of them to win the nomination. He may not have said those things publicly but he certainly EXECUTED that plan to a tee. He did say that he "loved" the poorly educated too.
