The White House defended Antoni’s ownership of a huge picture of the Bismarck as he is a “history buff” and has an “appreciation for the significance of maritime history.”

“His office is full of a variety of artifacts and artwork featuring U.S. battleships and other famous vessels, including the USS New Jersey and the USS Misouri [sic], that have been used throughout major wars,” a spokesperson told the Daily Beast.

Republicans have this simplistic and wrong thinking like 'Democrats just love to get to make any trump Hitler comparison because they hate him'. The actual issues and any rational approach is lost on them. They aren't totally wrong that some Democrats do resemble that, but many aren't.

Basically it's like talking morals with a sociopath. It's like you're talking another language. Things like moral issues are unseen by them, only 'you're calling trump names'. So I suspect Mark thinks he's offering some insight that pointlessly attacking Democrats will be glad to have this new bit of trump Hitler ammunition just because. They don't get it's not just because, as our democracy is under siege.

All they see is a game. It's why they would LOVE to dig up some quote by Biden or Obama if they ever said anything sympathetic about something about Hitler, simply because it let them claim it gave them a lot of 'points' with no idea about the actual issues.
 
A person in the Trump administration being into Nazi stuff isn’t unusual. Steve Miller exists. Hegseth has an iron cross tattoo for example.

What’s really interesting is Trump’s association with Epstein.

Maybe he should have a picture of the US destroyer Reuben James. Germany sank it in 1941, before Pearl Harbour, but it didn't provoke American involvement in WW2.

In all seriousness, this complaint is zone-refined bullshit. Somebody had an AI scrape all his postings from the web and found one that could be misinterpreted. I don't even know if this is a desperate Democratic effort to smear him or a preventative Republican treatment to keep something meatier from making the news. The main disqualification for the man taking over BLS is that he's taking over BLS, i.e. he's taking over responsibility to churn out fake statistics from a once-trusted source. It's not the man tarring the office but the office tarring the man this time.
 
You say a lot of nonsense without any evidence. Show his statement was "misinterpreted". BLD data was reasonably credible, and he is a corrupt lackey installed to falsify the data. That is him tarring the office.
 
It's a bad look. If this were the private sector, the company would probably just look for someone else. Of course, the private sector wouldn't have fired the previous employee, but that's a different point.

Honestly, IDGAF. I'm more concerned that BLS's independence is now compromised. How are the fed and the markets supposed to navigate the changes to the economy.
