Opinion -The CIA Democrats in the 2020 elections

The CIA Democrats in the 2020 elections
By Patrick Martin

August 23, 2020 "Information Clearing House" - In the course of the 2018 elections, a large group of former military-intelligence operatives entered capitalist politics as candidates seeking the Democratic Party nomination in 50 congressional seats—nearly half the seats where the Democrats were targeting Republican incumbents or open seats created by Republican retirements.

Some 30 of these candidates won primary contests and became the Democratic candidates in the November 2018 election, and 11 of them won the general election, more than one-quarter of the 40 previously Republican-held seats captured by the Democrats as they took control of the House of Representatives.

In 2020, the intervention of the CIA Democrats continues on what is arguably an equally significant scale: besides the reelection campaigns of the 11 representatives who won seats in the House in 2018, half a dozen of those who lost 2018 races are running again in 2020. Some of these are running for House seats again, while others have been promoted by the Democratic Party leadership and are running for the US Senate. And an entire new crop of military-intelligence operatives is being brought forward, some running for Republican seats targeted by the Democratic leadership as possible takeovers, others in seats not currently considered competitive.

The bottom line: at least 34 Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives have a primarily military-intelligence background, up from 30 in 2018, as well as three of the party’s 35 candidates for the US Senate, compared to zero in 2018. For each branch of Congress, this represents about 10 percent of the total.

As we explained in 2018, the extraordinary influx of candidates coming directly from the national-security apparatus into the Democratic Party is a two-sided process: the Democratic Party establishment welcomes such candidates as a demonstration of the party’s unshakeable devotion to the interests of American imperialism; and military-intelligence operatives are choosing the Democratic Party over the Republican Party in large numbers because they are attracted by the Democrats’ non-stop campaign against the Trump administration as too “soft” on Russia and too willing to pull out of the Middle East war zone....[much more...good read]

Groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda are not going to go away just because we pretend we can hide behind the oceans.

And no, fighting such groups is not “imperialism”.

Your deluded conspiracy theories are rather “cuckoo”.

You actual words were nothing more than repeating “plutocrats” “bankers” and “money” over and over. That’s not an argument.

Liberals have no problem drone-bombing dirt poor brown people to further their agenda of hegemony.

An informative piece: Foundation Networks and American Hegemony

“Libertarians” have no problem with dirt poor brown people being slaughtered en masse by psychotic thugs like ISIS and Al Qaeda. And no, fighting against those groups is not “imperialism”.

[...one wonders if this republicrat knows about all the CIA $upport which greatly enabled the 'psychotic thugs'...or is that 'conspiracy theory' too?] :cuckoo:

...when a country has hundreds of foreign military bases around the planet, is constantly spying, interfering, bullying, murdering LIKE NO OTHER, etc.....is that 'imperialism?'...

Oh look, more CTer babble.

Let me guess.....you are going to try and cite support for the Mujahideen, conveniently ignoring the fact that they aren’t the same as either the Taliban or Al Qaeda, and trying to equate the groups is foolish.

Then you are going to claim the US is “supporting” ISIS, despite the constant bombing campaigns against them, because we won’t let Assad gas his way into staying in power.

Your fantasy narratives are the same tired old garbage.

...btw, you republicrat couch warriors are free to get off your duffs and join or support any private 'foreign legion to save the world' that pleases you...

...just keep your republicrat dinkskinners out of the public treasury when supporting your stinking secret-squirrel abomination$, etc. stooooooopid ideas galore!...

...ugh... republicrats!...

“Beautiful ideals were painted for our boys who were sent out to die. This was the "war to end wars." This was the "war to make the world safe for democracy." No one told them that dollars and cents were the real reason. No one mentioned to them, as they marched away, that their going and their dying would mean huge war profits. No one told these American soldiers that they might be shot down by bullets made by their own brothers here. No one told them that the ships on which they were going to cross might be torpedoed by submarines built with United States patents. They were just told it was to be a "glorious adventure".

In other words, with your arguments already exposed and debunked you are impotently fuming. Got it.

But not a single cent should be provided to help CTers or their families, ever, as you stated

...tigerass brings his hole and nothing else to the table... :cuckoo:

“There are only two reasons why you should ever be asked to give your youngsters. One is defense of our homes. The other is the defense of our Bill of Rights and particularly the right to worship God as we see fit. Every other reason advanced for the murder of young men is a racket, pure and simple.”

Ah yes, Smedley “There was totally a coup planned even though I have literally zero evidence, just take my word for it” Butler.

Fighting against groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda is the definition of “defending our homes” so even then your “argument” falls flat.

In short.....you’ve got nothing.

Operation Cyclone - Wikipedia

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) program to arm and finance the mujahideen (jihadists) in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, prior to and during the military intervention by the USSR in support of its client, the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. The mujahideen were also supported by Britain's MI6, who conducted separate covert actions. The program leaned heavily towards supporting militant Islamic groups that were favored by the regime of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in neighboring Pakistan, rather than other, less ideological Afghan resistance groups that had also been fighting the Marxist-oriented Democratic Republic of Afghanistan regime since before the Soviet intervention.[1]

Operation Cyclone was one of the longest and most expensive covert CIA operations ever undertaken.[2] Funding officially began with $695,000 in 1979,[3][4] was increased dramatically to $20–$30 million per year in 1980, and rose to $630 million per year in 1987,[1][5][6] described as the "biggest bequest to any Third World insurgency."[7] Funding continued (albeit reduced) after the 1989 Soviet withdrawal as the mujahideen continued to battle the forces of President Mohammad Najibullah's army during the Afghan Civil War (1989–1992).[8]

Oh look, exactly what I predicted.

Again, trying to equate the Taliban and Mujahideen, or the Mujahideen and Al Qaeda, is foolish. These were totally distinct groups with different missions and reasons for fighting. Ahmed Shah Massoud was a top Mujahideen commander who vehemently opposed the Taliban.....to use just one example.

As I said before, your “arguements” are just the same old garbage every other CTer spews. Long since debunked, but you keep trotting it out.

...oh what a tangled web tigger's republicrats have woven... :cuckoo:

Osama Bin Laden Created by the US - various articles

The first contact with Bin Laden was in 1979, when the new graduate from the Univ. of Jedah got in touch with the U.S. embassy in Ankara, Turkey. With the help of the CIA and the U.S. Armed Forces intelligence services he began to organize in the early 1980s and network to raise money and to recruit fighters for the Afghan mujahidins that were fighting the Soviets. He did this from the city of Peshawar in Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan.

Part of these activities were financed with the production and sale of morphine, the base of heroin. This was the beginning of today Al Qaida (the base) network led by Bin Laden. Indeed the chickens are coming home to roost for the CIA and U.S. bosses.

http://www.timesofindia.com/today/07euro1.htm

LONDON [IANS]: The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) worked in tandem with Pakistan to create the "monster" that is today Afghanistan's ruling Taliban, a leading US expert on South Asia said here.

"I warned them that we were creating a monster," Selig Harrison from the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars said at the conference here last week on "Terrorism and Regional Security: Managing the Challenges in Asia."

Harrison said: "The CIA made a historic mistake in encouraging Islamic groups from all over the world to come to Afghanistan." The US provided $3 billion for building up these Islamic groups, and it accepted Pakistan's demand that they should decide how this money should be spent, Harrison said.

Harrison, who spoke before the Taliban assault on the Buddha statues was launched, told the gathering of security experts that he had meetings with CIA leaders at the time when Islamic forces were being strengthened in Afghanistan. "They told me these people were fanatical, and the more fierce they were the more fiercely they would fight the Soviets," he said. "I warned them that we were creating a monster."

There is nothing inherently wrong with “having military bases” and the idea that having allies is somehow “wrong” is pretty pathetic.

“Meddling”.....by which you mean helping various countries defend themselves from hostile neighbors who want their land, terrorist groups and other threats. “Meddling” is nothing more than meaningless babbling.

Who cares about how much you spend? Military equipment is expensive. We tried cutting the military budget to the bone many times before, all it did was cause more people to die when war broke out(for example, the Civil War, World War War, World War Two)......

In other words....you‘ve still got nothing :lamo

...when a country with approx. 5% of the world's population has the VAST majority of military bases, spends VASTLY more than others on militarism, is the world's leading arms dealer, etc., it looks to sane people that you republicrats are stinking warmongers...just a thought..

 get real!...i'm talking about your stinking republicrats facilitating 'put the puppet in, take the puppet out, shake the puppet all about' so your real ma$ter$ can steal their oil, etc. resources... like your scumbags are doing in venezuela, iraq, syria, afghanistan, africa, etc... [you really ought to turn off the teevee and think for yourself for once]

Who cares about how much you spend?... In other words....you‘ve still got nothing :lamo

..monetary ignoramuses care little about 'spending'...you bring nothing to the table to bolster your asinine claims except your naive republicrat-level, warmongering opinion and your oral sphincter...word..

Wow, is today excellent post day? Excellent post. Money, it's all about money. Most people do not realize the federal reserve bank is not a part of our government, it's privately owned by rich bankers, the real power on earth. The older I get and the more documentaries I watch the more I realize it's all about money. The leadership of the right has bamboozeled their base for generations with lies and fear and election after election they buy into it and vote against their own best interests. What's the book one of the republicans has recently written? It's all been lies. Money.

A word to the wise.......screeching something as idiotic as “the US is the all time world champion terrorist nation”, while typical from CTer nut job sources, totally dismantles any credibility you claim to have.
