The "Butcher of Syria" is nothing special, just as bad as every other Russian commander

Does Russian commander in Ukraine deserve his 'bloody' reputation?​


Alexander Dvornikov, in charge of Russian forces in Ukraine is known as the "Butcher of Syria" due to his indiscriminate targeting of civilians during the Syrian War. The thing is though, there is not anything special about Dvornikov, it's just Russian military doctrine.
 
Russian military conscripts are paid around 2,000 rubles ($30) a month. Russian military contract soldiers (kontrakniki) make from $700-$900 a month depending if they are in a hot zone.

Russian Wagner Group (a GRU subcontractor) mercenaries make $2,000-$3,000 a month.

It's understood that many of the above pad their salaries via theft, bribery, kidnapping, extortion, trafficking, etc.
