CPI determines the COLA rate for Social Security. Without accurate data, expect a lower number and erosion of benefits earned.

The COLA is calculated based on a subset of the consumer price index, the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, or CPI-W.

He learned a lot from if you don’t have any testing, you don’t have any cases.
 
It appears this was something announced last month not by the new guy. I suspect we will see a significant suppression and manipulation of data going forward but doesn't appear this one is on him.
