The Brutal Takedown of the Duggar Family’s Evangelical Crusade

Yes, I am known for my "insightful"ness ;)
Well, you must have had a break in your streak of "insightful"ness then:

"Another form of baiting is known as “derailing” or “thread-jacking.” This is the deliberate act of making statements with an aim of diverting the topic of a thread significantly from its main focus. These negative forms of baiting constitute a rules violation that can potentially lead to a suspension of posting privileges."

I am pretty sure there would not be anyone left with that. Let the reporting begin...

I never watched their "reality" show. I worked on other so called reality shows and know there is nothing "real" about them.

I also never had any interest in a family with so many children. From what I saw, the mother only liked babies. As soon as the child was out of the baby stage she handed that child off to her other children to raise. I always thought that was twisted and sick.

Then the news came out about their oldest son and I wasn't surprised one bit. I was sickened and disgusted but not surprised. I wasn't surprised when he didn't face any real consequences for his sick abuse of four of his sisters and one that isn't his sister. I wasn't surprised when he was later busted with a computer filled with sick child porn. In fact, I expected it. He didn't face any real consequences for his prior actions so I knew he wouldn't stop. I also know those who are sick like that, can't be helped and won't ever change their behavior. They belong in prison for the rest of their lives for the protection of our society.

Turns out, the family is a member of a very sick christian cult called the Institute in Basic Life Principles founded by some sick guy by the name of bill gothard.

Some of the family members are speaking out now and there's a documentary about it on Prime.

Exactly.

For me, I think the only real thing about them is how disturbingly easy it is for folks to get sucked, and suckered into devoting their minds and lives to watching them.

At least the Duggars are freaks. What's the reason to put the Chrisley's on TV?

They weren't freaks?

They were criminals as well.

My late wife liked their show, so yes, I got to watch it or leave the room, and I thought they were freaks.

The reason to put them on the air?

Many folks like freak shows.

Believe it or not, but there are good Christian people out there. Maybe for every negative thread you could post a positive thread for the sake of being fair and balanced?
As soon as you guys do for trans and drag queens let us know.

So, it is an active "thing" of yours to look for the negative ones?
Nope. It's an active "thing" for the news to show me the negative ones, so that becomes top of mind. I also don't actively look for them, either. Just comes across my feed.

Sorry, that is not something I look for in threads.
you don't acknowledge/talk about actual adults who are actually doing the raping of children but yet participate in threads like this??

How cute.

Tell us, when is the last time you created a fair and balanced thread?

I haven't posted any new threads. Is that necessary to show your Christian values? Smiley Happy People isn't anti-Christian.
She loves playing the victim card doesn't she?

Yet somehow never does what she accuses others of never doing.

Irony. It's funny.

What is this:

Basic Life Principles

What is this:

Basic Life Principles
The Institute is an umbrella organization for quite a few very conservative Evangelical groups. The seven Principles preached by Bill Gothard are: Design, Authority, Responsibility, Suffering, Ownership, Freedom, and Success. Satan's power is out to get the individual, but God puts an umbrella over the man (father), the man puts an umbrella over the woman, the woman puts an umbrella over the children. If there's a hole in the umbrella, Satan gets through. There's a big piece of Prosperity Gospel in it as well.

Funny, I never see any liberal post post positive Christian threads.
So, you’re desirous of seeing your belief system praised publicly.

That sounds like vanity.

Vanity is an example of pride, one of the Deadly Sins.

I strongly advise you to begin repenting.

Let it be known:

Margo thinks pointing out the Duggars' poor behavior is far worse than the poor behavior itself.
Josh Duggar is a pedophile and molester, initially protected by his father. IBLP is a Christian flavored cult rife with misogyny and child abuse, and what's her response?

"Why libz no ever say nuthin good bout Kristians?" 🙄
