the breakfast thread

The chaos of Costco is sometimes more than I can handle. There are too many people trying to be everwhere at once. We'll see how it goes next time I'm there. My anxiety is better now.
Costco can certainly be unnerving at times with weekends being the worst. I’ve yet to find a sweet spot when it’s a little less hectic but I haven’t found any. We have 3 Costcos to choose from and those are all equidistant from us. It doesn’t help.😵‍💫

We almost always go on the weekend. My anxiety is under better control now, so we'll see how the next trip goes.

I get confused and dazed and just start buying up stuff; especially packaged foods. Everything looks like a bargain. I usually come home with way mores stuff than we can use. My anxiety starts when I attempt to put stuff away and realize how much I've spent. Costco is a place to stay away from; except for grapefruit and wine, and steak and bread, and cereal and cheese, and cupcakes, and ready made dinners and, and, and, You can see my problem.

When shopping in general, I just want to pick up what we need in amounts that we'll use before the food spoils or stales. Costco isn't that.

Cinnamon raisin and Brioche French toast with sliced banana and strawberries, real maple syrupal, and butter; cuppa joe, V-8.

Bacon, egg, cheese, tomato, mayonnaise, s&p, on toasted 9 grain bread, cuppa joe, oj

Black Russian bagel with vegetable cream cheese on one half, plain cream cheese and strawberry preserves on the other half; cuppa joe.

I had my usual breakfast again. My frozen egg strategy is working out well. Microwave 30 seconds on one side, flip, and then 20 seconds. I'll have to make another batch to freeze tonight.

I made pancakes with strawberries. They were meh'.
My strawberries are very meh, too. So much for thinking it was the season.

Which one do you use? Depending on how I cook my eggs I’ll use either Tabasco red or Cholula green.
I like Cholula red. I immediately bought two more bottles when the president put those high tariffs on Mexico.

What is a Black Russian bagel? All I can think of is the cocktail--yuck.

Saturday and Sunday I cook breakfast for who ever is here. The rest of the week it's " you know where the cereal and milk are". But today is Sunday so breakfast will be sausage, bacon, orange juice, coffee and yeast raised pancakes with real maple syrup. Sadly, it is not the light amber high grade stuff that I used to buy whenever we were in Quebec. It's not even a very good third class maple syrup; it's Walmart's maple syrup, very dark and somewhat woody tasting. Sigh.
I'm using up a small bottle of Aldi's brand, and ditto. I will be returning to Vermont fresh, real Maple syrup as soon as possible! I only live 7 minutes from Vermont, after all.

Don't you have to be a member?

LOL

I haven't had any appetite lately, and have been forcing myself to eat once or twice a day, but mostly cold stuff. Every day I keep hoping I'll be able to face my MOW delivery, but so far they're mostly going in the freezer.

With any luck, my pants will quit feeling so tight around my belly.😄

It’s made with flour, water, and malt, coated with sesame or poppy seeds.

OMG!! Looking on Amazon for a decent maple syrup I found the exact same maple syrup in the exact same cans that we used to buy in Provigo when we were in Quebec. OMG, OMG I'm so happy.

Ive only ever been to Costco twice and both times when I left I needed to get out because of my anxiety so I didn't get a hotdog or a slice. I have never ever had a Costco hotdog or a slice of their pizza. I need to remedy that soon.

I hear they're good.

Get it to go and take it to some tranquil place to enjoy.

I was going to run back in after the 2nd time and eat it in the car on the way home. I should have done that but my nerves were frayed by the throngs of people.

The usual. Might switch up the sandwich a bit next week. Might not.
