Well, assuming Satan is a "great deceiver," then it would make sense the greatest deception of all is using the one thing that guides many people-the bible, aka, the "Word of God." WHat better way to fool people than by saying something is from or spoken by god? Some people buy into biblical nonsense no questions asked. Just look at how many denominations exist. Theists can't even agree on their own mythology and sometimes even fight over it.

It's not Satan, it's the Demiurge himself. This world is false and evil, because all material is evil. The Demiurge has made a prison for all of us in this world, and the Bible is just another gospel of the false God. You can only join the true Monad by achieving gnosis.

1) Satan is a Supernatural Entity (much like god)
2) Satan is apparently eternal (much like god)
3) Satan has interacted with humans in the natural world (much like god)
4) Satan apparently is very active in this interaction with humans even in modern times (not much like god)

So why couldn't Satan's greatest trick ever be to convince billions over the course of thousands of years that this one book was the word of god?

Think about it.

Why wouldn't Jesus himself actually write the New Testament? In full view of thousands of historians and world leaders?
Why is there absolutely NOTHING authored by Jesus himself?

Why is the bible so obviously contradictory?

Why is slavery NOT condemned in the Bible?

The Adam & Eve story?
Noah, building a huge Ark when he's 600 years old? The entire world flooding?

Rising from the dead, but no witnesses?

All these events basically happening in just one teeny tiny section of the world, where most people were illiterate?
So the majority of "stories" would have to be kept alive through spoken word for many decades before they'd be written down?
Had a loving god wanted to save as many humans as possible, wouldn't he send Jesus on a world tour?
Asia, Africa, South America, North America, .... ?

Surely god could foresee what kinds of problems these things would cause. Especially a few thousand years later.

But Satan, Satan could easily be responsible for creating such wildly impossible tales lacking any verifiable proof.
Satan could deceive men into thinking it was all real, and the work of god.

All Satan needed to do was get a handful of the right people to believe. The rest would simply be the work of men spreading this lie.

So where's the proof this couldn't happen?

It is far more logical, and historically sound as well, to conclude that Bible is nothing more than a creation of collected work then scrutinized by the Roman Empire but made up of various Bronze Age myths prevalent across the region making its way into hundreds of writings not all of which made the final cut.
