The art of the deal...Germany stops construction of LNG Terminal and blocks american LNG

They are not committed. Party leader Baerbock was asked 4 times and only talked around it.

It's in the Green Party program or what we call in the USA a party platform. I addressed this by you in a post in scrolling so you need to get some new material Rostocker.

And one thing, the Greens are not 2nd strongest party. They are currently Nr 4, behind AfD. The election is in September. Polls are not elections.

And De Nile isn't only a river in Egypt.

As for Bidens support, are you saying USA tries to interfer in our elections? Thats illegal you know? 🙂

I said no such thing and there would be no evidence of it whatsoever.

Its quite easy, no Nordstream II, no energy link through Thüringen -collapse of green politics.

Thats how we roll here.

I'm ROTFLMAO Rostocker as the German electorate has made clear it is fed up with being run through by Polonium Putin and his Moscow Mafia in the Kremlin that have state elite capture of Germany by Russia. Your posts confirm it's still East Germany vs West Germany and the coming election that's being called a once in a generation election is very likely to begin to change that starting with Berlin.

angela-merkel-vladimir-putin-xi-jinping.jpg

That's 3 own goals scored by Merkel against Germany Rostocker and Germany knows that it has to recover from in the election or lose the match. Two East Germans plus the Chicoms.

USA was hellbend to sell Gas Here. It simply cant find anyone to buy it. When you can have Gas from Russia 30% cheaper

As proof U.S. hasn't any interest in transporting gas to Germany, Trump refused the corrupt LNG bribe offer by Berlin which also brings us back to your bogus OP and thread title. Last August Berlin offered in writing $1bn to build two planned LNG (floating) terminals if the U.S. would allow completion of NS 2 SK. Nothing came of it because Trump wouldn't bite which was a turnaround that took a bite out of Germany's corrupt Russian owned ass.

Yet you are back yet again trying to say for the umteenth time this is about US LNG to Germany when it is not.

Au contraire Rostocker, the U.S. opposition has always come from the national security and national defense community of the USA to include of course the Pentagon and by the bipartisan Congress which is especially fierce against it because Congress knows well of the new, ie, openly and shameless Russo-German Energy and Geostrategic Axis against NATO.

In December 2020 Gazprom announced its gas fees for 2021 are being increased by a whopping 35% which makes sauerkraut of your 30% cheaper Russian gas. Germany already has one of the highest electricity rates of the world at 33 cents per kilowatt hour which compares to the USA hourly kilowatt rate of 13 cents.

You're blowing AfD hot sauerkraut air Rostocker which is all that you do and always.

These are excerpts from Foreign Policy digital zine published the day after Biden was inaugurated.

The thesis is that Germany knows better but does it anyway, ie, tries to treat Russia, China, the USA as moral and ethical equals that need to be balanced while Germany is fully aware of who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.

In other words this German "deeply ingrained instinct" of amorality that is immutable needs to be disciplined rather than pampered. Constantly so over the centuries.

What the world would look like without the United States. A grubby looking bunch indeed.

Yet there are unmistakable signs of trans-Atlantic trouble on the horizon that even the arrival of a pro-European U.S. administration can’t paper over. And that trouble is coming from Germany. Europe’s biggest economy struggles to reconcile its deeply ingrained instinct to seek equally good relations with friends and foes alike with the uncomfortable fact that a darkened strategic landscape may force Germany to align more strongly with the West—and pay a price for doing so.

The common thread is neither cynical geoeconomic nationalism nor strategic naiveté, but, alas, short-sightedness against better knowledge. To pretend that Europe and the United States on the one hand and Russia and China on the other can somehow be treated as equivalents and held in balance, or that projects such as Nord Stream 2 and deals such as the CAI are economic and reciprocal in nature—while they are in reality political, strategic, and designed by Moscow and Beijing to weaponize interdependence—all this undercuts European unity and trans-Atlantic cohesion, alienating Germany’s partners and allies. Ultimately, these are own goals—acts that are not even in Germany’s self-interest. Germany’s leaders know this, yet proceed anyway. It would be regrettable if Germany missed its chance in Washington—particularly since the window of opportunity may be short.

Spare the rod and spoil the child that Germany is Rostocker.

Many of us are trying to impel German voters in September to take the rod to you adult children as the Greens are the only party that rejects this compulsive and historically predictable and recurring German wrong headedness.

The Biden administration has the "optimists" who believe Germany will come to its senses and the "pessimists" who know Germany's natural impulses and compulsion require the rod. As the optimists continue to get your door shut in their face Germany is only strengthening the pessimists to the foreseeable point they will prevail. The election this year is Germany's last chance to clean up its act voluntarily.

CDU party leader Armin Laschet received the unanimous support of the CDU’s leadership committee at their meeting Monday to express their non binding party preference for chancellor designate in the September election.

His rival the CSU leader Markus Shoeder who is decidedly ahead of Laschet in all polling for chancellor if it were a direct vote which it is not, will meet Monday with his party committee. The Politico Poll of Polls of all voters has Shoeder at 38% vs Laschet at 17% so Shoeder is hanging tough trying to make the most of it to the CDU leaders.

For instance, while in April last year the Union was at 40% it has seemed to settle at between 26% to 28% in the various polls, down sharply from its 33% vote in the 2017 federal election.

The Greens in contrast who got 8.9% in the 2017 vote are polling at 23% to place a solid second. The Social Democrats & Russia Loving Ostpolitik SPD junior coalition partner to the Union started this year's polling in the tank at 17% and have stayed stuck there.

The Greens are scheduled to choose their chancellor candidate of either co-leader Annalena Baerbock or Robert Habeck on next Monday also. Politico shows each of 'em runs comfortably ahead of Laschet but well behind Shoeder who is leader of socially conservative Bavaria.

Despite Laschet being Son of Merkel on every issue the German Frauer Merkel remains neutral in the contest between Laschet and Shoeder. “All the facts are on the table,” said Laschet. “We want to speak very soon with the CSU and find a joint solution. Then I’m sure that we have every chance of winning the election together.”

Foreign Policy digital zine in USA thinks that's not the greatest idea....

Laschet, as Germany’s potential next chancellor, may be a more serious reason for trans-Atlantic concern. He is often described as a male version of Merkel, but this is inaccurate. Merkel, for all her caution and apparent blandness, has radically reshaped German politics. Laschet, by contrast, is a throwback to the politics of pre-unification West Germany, which were dominated by the same regional, mainly Catholic male power networks from which Laschet emerged. [C]urrently the governor of the rust-belt state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Laschet is being scrutinized for his past deference to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syria’s dictator, Bashar al-Assad.

His apparent conviction that Germany can be passionately European and trans-Atlanticist while simultaneously forging close relationships with Russia and China is a continuation of the old West German desire to balance West and East—the Cold-War policies of Westbindung and Ostpolitik. Inexplicably, Laschet appears to see no need to update his foreign-policy talking points to account for the worsening of Europe’s strategic environment—where such a balancing act is increasingly questioned by Germany’s partners—or his own rise to national significance.

Germany Is Pouring Cold Water on the Biden-Europe Love Fest (foreignpolicy.com)

So, yes, any friend of Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad is a friend of Armin Laschet in Russian state captured Berlin. Same goes about Xi Jinping who has only three friends anyway, one each in Pyongyang and Moscow and a bunch of 'em in Berlin.

Indeed Laschet as the new German Chancellor would almost guarantee the Biden "pessimists" about Germany would prevail in the WH and across the national agencies of security, intelligence, defense. The Greens in a coalition would be the only "partner" in Berlin who could possibly modify some of that, in respect to Nord Stream 2 Still Kaput in particular but not only.

There is always a choice.

Look dude, your problem is, you dont know history. Germany and Russia deal with each other since 1000 years. And in 90% of that time relations were perfect.

The court language in Russia for some time had been German. They even had a german empress.

Peace in Europe can only exist, when Germany and Russia have good relations

History suggests otherwise. Especially recent history.

Maybe one of the "dealmakers last plunders"...

Germany announced today, that the planned LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven will not be build.

The Terminal was planned to give american companies acess on the german gas markets, one of the most lucrative worldwide. It was a step towards the americans. Germany gets most of its gas through Nordstream I pipeline from russia. USA opposed the new Nordstream II pipeline.

American LNG companiea are under pressure, some already went bancrupt. USA did chose a hostile way and threatened sanctions on german companies who work on Nordstream II. Thats a novum, that USA want sanction an allied nation for its independend energy politics.

The conflict was fuelled by Ted Cruz, who gets heavily funded by american LNG companies.

Experts made it clear from day one, that it is impossible for Germany to let USA dictate its energy politics and that rising pressure will only lead to secure that pipeline construction.

Merkel offered Trump a deal where no side loses face. Germany would fund a LNG Terminal in Wilhelmshaven, so american LNG tankers can dock and sell their gas on the german market. At same time USA drops the threats.

German finance minister Scholz send that proposal to Trump.

Trump did not answer and thought its a good idea to rise pressure in an attempt to simply force Germany to buy american LNG.

Today that backfired. No Terminal means no ships can land their cargo.

The entire German market is lost.

I’m not at all surprised that the Trump Administration never responded to any offer of a deal to allow both project to move forward.

I never understood the mentality inside the Trump White House that assumed that they could dictate and bully the entire world into doing Trump’s will. (especially since Trump was indifferent, at best, to foreign policy, and probably can’t find Germany on a map).

The deal would have been a good one for Germany. Almost certainly better than for the big American oil and gas companies.

After all, it’s far cheaper to move gas in a pipeline than it is ship it in pressurized specialized tankers half way around the world.

The Russians could price the Americans out of the German gas market pretty much at will.

Japan, SK, Taiwan, the 10 nations that border the South China Sea, Australia/NZ get their oil from the ME rather than from closeby Russia despite that shipping oil/gas from the ME makes it more expensive, time consuming and necessitates increased security and stability measures.

National security and regional stability trumps price factors to the governments and the peoples of these countries that are either democracies or strategic partners of the U.S., such as Vietnam is a strategic partner. They prefer to pay the higher prices of ME oil than to become reliant and dependent on Polonium Putin and his autocratic and aggressive Russia for their energy.

This contrasts starkly with the cheapskates in Germany and their open arms to the Moscow Mafia in the Kremlin and its state capture of the happy go lucky elites of industry and politics in Berlin.

Worse yet and in Germany's direct contradiction to market principles, in December 2020 Gazprom announced its gas fees for 2021 were increased by a whopping 35%. This sudden and harsh Russian increase in prices made sauerkraut of Germany's favorite market argument that Russian gas is 30% cheaper than LNG. Indeed Germany doesn't mind paying more yet to the Moscow Mafia despite Germany already having one of the highest electricity rates of the world at 33 cents per kilowatt hour -- which compares to the USA hourly kilowatt rate of 13 cents.

So there's much more than price to factor into the Russo-German Axis of Energy that is fiercely underway as is evident in the high profile Nord Stream project in the Baltic and Turkstream in the Black Sea.

It is in fact about Russia & Germany aligning against NATO, EU and all of Europe and to expel the United States out of Europe so the two thousand year BFF can lord over Europe as a partnership against democracy and Western values. All the political parties of Germany except the Greens regard the two world wars of the 20th century as mere hiccups to their thousand year Russian-German cooperation and imperial intimacy.

Why should we support ISIS? Saudi Arabia funds ISIS. Buying from middle east would be fundamental against our Security and defense interest. So the only option we have is Russia, Norway, Cyprus. Thats a simple fact.

Governments don’t buy oil.

And since most of Russia’s developed oil fields are thousands of miles West of Japan (and much closer to the ME), your argument does not make sense.

Why is it that the Russians never developed any meaningful infrastructure for exporting oil in the Pacific?

Two of the several things I've established at the thread is that Germans are cheapskates who nonetheless will and do pay Russia any price while claiming it's an irresistible bargain -- hilarious as that is -- and that the Kremlin has state capture of the German industrialists and political leaders in Berlin.

Couldn't have done it without you Rostocker so thx much for bumbling your way to over here where your coming on gangbusters were certain you were going to tough guy kick American arse.

Au contraire cause you turned out quickly to be a bust and have spent almost all your time on the ropes.

Tangmo,,our differences aside, Saudi Arabia is one of worlds most horrendous regimes. A big sponsor of terroism. Almost all 911 attackers came from Saudi Arabia. All terrorists in Paris wee paid amd supported by Saudi Arabia. Ssudi Arabia funds Wahabism and wants export radical islamists to Europe.

This is an absolute security risk here and in no way will we support that regime. No matter whats the fate of NS II, oil and gas from that terror regime is never an alternative.

The Power of Siberia gigantic oil field of Russia and pipelines stretch more than 2,200km to the China border at Heilongjiang province in the northeast across from the Korean peninsula and Japan which are a stone's throw from Taiwan and the ten nations of the South China Sea.

The second phase of the project which is expected to be completed next year constructs another line connecting Chayanda with the giant Kovykta gas field in eastern Siberia. The Chinese meanwhile are doing a 3300km pipleine from Russia to Shanghai on the Yellow Sea at the Korean Peninsula right there at Japan too and a short hop to the ten countries of the SCS.

While the contracts are top secret so to speak China is believed to pay the same as Germany pays. Or said another way, Germany pays the same as China pays eh. Which is another thing the Germans and the Chinese share, ie, being cheapskates.

All the same Gazprom keeps jacking up the prices to Europe via Germany where the cheapskate Germans pay whatever the Kremlin demands of 'em while singing the praises of Russian bargain prices no matter how high and absurd the price.

Indeed, the Germans pass all overcharges on to their European consumers anyway because the Europeans went ahead to create infrastructure for Russian gas via Russia's vassal state Germany.

In a conflict the U.S. will bust up those pipelines before breakfast.

Beijing is building easy to wreck pipelines out to Russian energy fields while the Russians build toward China because Beijing knows it will fall to a U.S. Naval blockade of the entire Chinese east coast in a serious conflict.

Yet the U.S. will demolish those overland pipelines from inland Asia that are conceived by Beijing to relieve China of the effects of a Naval blockade by the U.S. and allies of their entire coastal area of China, the main ports in particular.

Cutting China off from its energy supplies whether overland from the west or by sea trying to get past India and through the Strait of Malacca and across the SCS is a piece of cake Rostocker. It's just there's no cake for you in this.

The radars on the Army THAAD anti missile platform the U.S. put in South Korea a couple of years ago can read the temperature of Xi Jinping's morning tea. THAAD already on Guam is very good but THAAD in SK too neutralizes China's missile offense -- now Japan wants THAAD so we'll see.

Xi was furious about the U.S. THAAD in SK so he hit SK corporations in China and suspended SK operations of Chinese firms in the former Hermit Kingdom costing jobs to South Koreans. Xi and the Germans have the same take no prisoners mentality when they get burned by the USA. In the 20th century we burned Germany twice we did. So tell me more about Your AfD Rostocker.

Q. Why is a divided Germany better than a unified Germany?
A. Because a unified Germany asks "How High?" when Putin says "Jump!"

Indeed in Russian occupied Berlin the defense minister and the foreign minister are clashing openly now concerning NS 2 SK.

On the 14th DefMin Anngret Kramp-Karrenbauer of CDU said she supports a moratorium on construction of the pipeline as a means to apply pressure and leverage against Putin's sinister and dangerous military buildup along the border of eastern Ukraine across from Russian occupied Donbas.

Already in 2019 KKK as she's referenced in German media said NS 2 SK "is not close to my heart." Indeed last year the U.S. Embassy in Berlin proposed a moratorium on pipeline construction as a way for the US and concerned NATO allies such as France and Poland plus non NATO partners such as Ukraine to open a dialogue with the Russian state captured German industrial and political elites in Berlin.

The very next day on the 15th the Russia loving SPD Foreign Minister Heiko Maas jumped very high to reiterate his opposition to a pipeline moratorium, saying a moratorium at the present sensitive time "will not lead to changes in Russian behavior. I guess the opposite will happen," said the Putin chief troll of German diplomacy.

So while the German defense minister KKK wants to slap Putin into some semblance of sense, the Russian owned German foreign minister says standing up to Putin's military buildup along the Ukraine border will only make the "killer" as Potus Biden called Putin last week angry and a leader for NATO and EU to fear, to cower to and before.

Indeed Maas is yet another German triumph of the will guy.

Ditte Juul-Jorgensen, Director General for Energy for the European Commission, stated flatly this year that the EU does not need the NS2 project to ensure security of natural gas supply.

Rather, she noted that investments made over the past decade on LNG terminals, interconnectors, and storage had secured adequate gas supplies to meet EU needs without NS2. The EU ongoing transition to renewables under the Green Deal has also served to make the NS2 project even more of a redundancy.

During the Trump presidency for all its myriad evils U.S. LNG exports to Europe increased by 730% and the continental market remains wide open to a greater and further developing.

europe_lng.png

Given Europe does not need NS 2 SK leaves only one obvious reason for it, ie, a Russo-German Axis of Energy to lord over all of Europe and expel the United States from the continent.

The Axis satisfies the Russian historical passion and need of empire and the German obsessive compulsion to dominate all of Europe in any way possible and by any means -- to include snuffing out democracy and Western values.

This could not be more clear as the European Parliament voted a Resolution in January 580-51 to stop NS 2 SK immediately and for good.

SA isn't in an Axis with Germany to lord over Europe after evicting the United States from the continent. Saudis are not your type at AfD -- or to Germans. No way.

To you and Your Alternative for Deutschland that is welcomed in Moscow the white Christian Russian czarist and authoritarian autocrats are more than acceptable, as Germans in their obsessive compulsion to lord over all of Europe dovetail with the Russian historical and grandiose passion for empire.

Your deranged progenitors built the camps Rostocker and it will occur again unless the democracies of the West sit on Germany and bust up Your Russo-German Axis. Biden/Blinken are the Axis blessing in disguise given the duo fail to recognize that to successfully confront Russia&China, NATO & EU democracies must first smash the Axis key and indispensable partner Germany from its grip of state capture.

I reiterate, Biden/Blinken are the Axis blessing in disguise given the duo fail to recognize that to successfully confront Russia&China, NATO & EU democracies must first detach the Russo-German Axis key and indispensable partner Germany from its grip of state capture.

B&B in their policies are missing completely the only way for the West to successfully subdue Russia&China is to neuter Germany to follow with NATO & EU rather than allowing Germany to have any part in leading anyone in any thing.

The history of Germany as a nation state proves conclusively that Germany as a leader of any kind is a menace and a destructive force. The reason is that Germany is amoral or, simply put, two faced transactional.

If we are so evil, why keep us as ally? Why so desperatly?

I and others don't apply "evil" against present German generations. Yet while Germans have abandoned war as their primary instrument to dominate the European continent, the obsessive compulsion to lord over all Europe remains in the blood so to speak.

Many Germans if not most of 'em have become post cold war amoral and transactional while retaining the Nietzsche Superman complex that is inherent to your species together with your focus on the technical rather than the ethical.

In short and as I'd said, two faced and in fact multifaced.

Foreign-policy sleepwalking: Wake up to Germany no longer being such a good ally

9/15/2020

Germany is the most glaring case in point of when an ally is no longer an ally. Over vast patches of primary foreign policy terrain, Washington and Berlin simply do not agree. Germany today shows absolutely no desire in meeting even the most paltry of defense spending commitments; in 2019 Berlin allocated a laughable 1.36 percent of its GDP to its defense. A January 2020 Pew poll found that 57 percent of Germans hold an outright unfavorable view of America, while an October 2019 ECFR poll reported that 70 percent of German respondents want their country to remain neutral in any conflict between Russia and the U.S. Alliance solidarity this isn't.

Given its trade-dominated economy, Berlin disdains any serious effort to decouple itself from Chinese supply chains. The Anglosphere countries have hewed to an increasingly hawkish line over China, ruling out long-term dependence on Huawei over vital 5G telecoms networks, for example. Berlin, instead leading the vanguard of neutralism, has failed to rule out Huawei as its potential primary 5G carrier. Finally, despite the many examples of Vladimir Putin's general dastardliness - most recently over the Kremlin's poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny - German Chancellor Angela Markel has stubbornly refused to halt construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. While the U.S. defends Germany from the Russian threat, at the exact same time Berlin is doing big [geostrategic] business with Russia. If two major powers fundamentally disagree about trade, defense spending, China, Russia, and even disapprove of one another, these disagreements between "allies" means that they are no longer really allies at all.

20th century Cold War inertia keeps Germany in NATO while Germany has come to dominate the newer European Union. After 16 years of Merkel Berlin has come willingly under Kremlin state capture.

Biden/Blinken are behind the curve on this yet Biden has National Security Council members in the WH, at Pentagon, State, the IC, Treasury, Justice and elsewhere who are called "pessimists" on Germany, ie, they know Germany is no longer an ally and they know that by this time next year they will have the upper hand over the current group of German "optimists" such as Biden himself and Blinken too who are stuck in the Cold War past concerning Germany.

It's also obvious in Berlin that the German industrial and political elites have completely lost the Congress that is bipartisan hostile toward Germany for numerous post Cold War reasons that have come to the fore as the Gazprom Kremlin Mafia Nord Stream 2 Still Kaput.

It was in fact the armed services committee of each chamber that called in the military brass to holler at 'em for doing nothing to comply with Trump's order to remove 12K forces from Germany. Congress wants most of 'em in Poland, the rest in Spain and Italy while some return to the USA and Africa HQ out of Germany to Italy.

okay, we read that nearly a hundred times out of your propaganda keyboard - everybody got it

if you are not with me, you are against me and if Germany does not obey, it must be russian state captured - simpel propagandist logic

btw you always try to implement the whole western world is on US congress line - wishfull thinking but not true

if the pipeline will be finished or not, if your opinion reflects the opinion of your Congressmen, every country should be very careful wich dependences it has with the United States of America. When it comes to the world comunity I have no fear - Germany is the country with the best international connections in the world with best diplomatic success and the most countries of visa free travels. America has a lot of guns and a lot of money. For some...
