The Aging Hippy's Popularity

lol...Sanders isn't even a Democrat. He won't even get their support. Hillary, OTOH, will be able to rally the troops. And, unlike Obama, she'll probably even be able to pull in some Republicans.

Hillary is the most likely nominee, but I've stopped trying to predict any more races this year.

Hillary would be the logical choice. But, yeah...this is an illogical year.

27,000 people go to the Sanders rally in NY last night.

What's with these people flocking to the old fart from Brooklyn who moved to Vermont? I just do not get it. The guy never really did a lot for anyone while holding out in the Senate---did he even ever hire a Black person? And, now he is the darling of the left.

Who even moves to Vermont except white flighters?

Just checked the 50 people who live in Vermont, none are Black.
It's not his fault.

He has the luxury of not needing to be responsible. He can tell folks, particularly those on the left, exactly what they want to hear without any obligation to be realistic, thoughtful, or even particularly well informed. So he tells everybody what's wrong with the country in the starkest of terms, does a little hand-waving and pretends he's got the simple magic answer, and on to the next event. And it feels great!

Being the adult in the room is generally a buzzkill.

I watched a good part of that debate last night. "Adult in the room" is clearly who Hillary was during those two hours. Hand waving complainer with no real solutions--that defines feeling the Bern.

...and he never even brought up the elephant in the room. You know the emails, aka the single biggest reason she shouldn't be allowed with 100 miles of the white house.

You calling people in our military freeloaders isn't cool.

Our military loathes cowards and commies . The coward conscientious objector would not fight for his Country because of such high principles BUT wants to be Commander in Chief to order our brave troops to fight for HIM ! Typical liberal coward . :boom

When a state is 98% white...it does raise an eyebrow, especially when 10% of that state's prison population is black. lol...freaking Vermont is a worse place to be black than is Texas.

And committing crime isn't a factor , right ? :lamo Much like saying marriage is the major reason for divorce .

What's become increasingly clear to me is that Hillary's problem is that she can't communicate in soundbites, while Bernie's problem is that he can't think beyond them.

It's real dumb to commit a crime in a state where you are the only black person in town too. Like, gee whiz.

Cop: What did the suspect look like?

Store owner: He was Black

Cop: Charlie again. Huh?

Her best soundbite last night: "Anyone can diagnose the problem. The hard part is finding a solution."

You would need to spend some time in Burlington Vermont to really understand the BS of BS. If there is a liberal/socialist mecca that is the place. If you're a people watching person and want to see the odd and curious walking freely amongst us, It may rival San Francisco.

The old farmers mixed with communists are always fun and for some reason Vermont is a magnet for lesbians and transgender folks. Even more curious, they typically drive the same type of car, Subaru.

I've been there. It's a strange place that is for sure. Tie Dye meets flannel. Vermont itself is rather odd too. One area is full of hippies from the sixties who still have the same hair style, although quite grey now. Another is more like Alabama, just without the junk cars in the front yard.

One doesn't need to look very far, to see a great deal of citizen dissatisfaction with our current government and it's status-quo power structures. Many citizen's feel not just left-out and powerless in terms of their affect on our government, but even withing their abilities to affect their chosen political party!

Consequently, we have two reasonably viable anti-establishment candidates from the opposite sides of the political spectrum - that being Sen Sanders & Mr. Trump.

They represent different methods as solutions to the perceived problem.

I see no mystery with this.

The hilarity of this is you using a bumper sticker comment to express your opinion.

My summer cabin is not far from the boarder, just over the river, in fact I do my grocery shopping in Vermont. I have two close friends from Vermont that visit me while I’m up in the mountains, one is a communist the other a complete northern hillbilly so your analogy is true. The conversations the three of us have could be a comedy act. I should record one, It’s way funny for me but they are dead serious.

The left has long promises everything to everyone. It is falling apart now, as in close scrutiny you cannot have a vibrant and healthy economy if you shut down the use and extraction of fossil fuels. Here, the New Democratic Party shot itself in the foot, with thousands of heavy unionized oil patch workers as their support, the leader in the middle of the election promised to halt a pipeline that hadn't been proposed yet. The thought of losing all that work chased those voters to the Liberals who won easily.

Increasingly the left wing parties have become "progressive" and have joined the chorus on every progressive file, however the green side of things kill off the jobs that will pay for the social programs they promise.
Bernie cannot possibly deliver on any of his promises..
