But....but.....but, I thought that Bush was supposed to be "da man" we could count on to combat the war on terror. Supposedly that was one of the reasons he won in 2004. Remember? He said he would protect us better than Kerry. Cheney even said that if we voted for Kerry, we would get attacked again.

The 9-11 Commission was on Meet the Press yesterday and they aren't too impressed with the lack of implementation of its recommendations. So much for telling us that he is going to keep us safer......

Once again a demonstration of how much easier it is to hold hearings and conclude that 'something oughta be done' when you are an independent commission and have no turf to protect nor any constiuents to answer to...

But Congress does have all those things. And when they start trying to use the 9/11 Commish report to gain partisan advantage (Dems and Repubs alike), things that should get done suffer. Just my opinion - YMMV.

Can you name an instance, when the 9/11 commission's statements were taken seriously? Besides selling books?

Yes, when Negropante (however it is spelled) was appointed.

Did it say anything about lying about and manipulating the events of 911 to justify a war on terror?
