You prove me wrong.

What shortage, I've got plenty of .22 rounds :)

He didn't say he had "enough", just said that he's got plenty.

I thought I had plenty as well,... until I hit the range a few weeks back. Now my plenty has turned into pitiful.

It's worse when your kids shoot - they will burn through hundreds of rounds fast!

Americans drink, what, 100,000,000+ pops & beers & other drinks (energy or healthy) every single day? If recycled cans were an integral part of the production & availability of .22LR, then there would not be a shortage, supply would easily keep up with demand.

Guess it is time to whip out the reloading bench....

I had a friend at a Navy pistol range and traded him some "Planet Wrecker Specials" for a bag of Navy .38 brass. He showed up with a good sized shopping bag of brass. Good quality, thick walled brass.

Good for 10-15 reloads before becoming unusable.

I used to shoot .38 rounds like they were .22s.

Can't reload .22 rimfire.

Oh my God, A YOUTOOB Video!!!

You missed it completely.

You missed it completely.

Missed what? You asked me to prove you wrong, and I did.

Oh, wait, you're referring to your targeted condescending "sarcasm," right? Yeah, I skipped that nonsense and went right into proving you wrong, just as I always do.

You proved nobody wrong. There was nothing to prove wrong.

The OP is a parody, the reversed burden-of-proof the punchline. The joke is that making .22 LR scarce will save millions of cans from the entertainment known as plinking, thus allowing them to be recycled rather than shot full of holes. You missed on all points,... as you always do.

Yeah, no **** Sherlock that it was a ****ing parody. Did you not ****ing see that in my post that you just ****ing quoted? Do you need a picture drawn in crayon to comprehend what's happening? YES OR NO?

Don't you guys pay 10 cents a can when you buy them ?

Wow. Still missing it on all points.

Yup, each and every one of them.
I rarely come to conspiracy--though I dig them.
One of my favorites is the guy who has the patent on the computer chip--and where he said it came from.

As for these bullets, I remember teaching in a conservative portion of the Northeast last year--I'm retired chem/physics since last decade.
The kids were telling me they couldn't get these bullets last year.

The difference between them and more conservative gun owners
is that they bragged about how many guns they had and were proud to register them .

.22, and other ammunition has been relatively to severely under supplied these last few years that demand is so great, be it from private or official capacities.

There's political and historical and societal reasons for the apprehension to want to willing register a firearm with the authorities and not having a care in the world. Personally, I'd comply with the law no questions asked but I would remain conscious of the implications complying brings along with it.

And there's nothing wrong with this forum. There is an occasional poster or two that exhibit legitimate mental illness, which many chastise and make fun of. Then you've got the extremists who think in nothing but ALL or NONE. And then you've got the folks who pass along information. Then, there's lurkers and rare posters such as yourself. And if your not afraid to be challenged or sometimes operate in the speculative, then this forum could be a fun new thing for you to do. Either way, the choice is yours, man.

I should have recognized the Military humor right away, as I just noticed your U.S. Marines tag.
My military knowledge is extremely limited to being an Air Force brat until I was in 8th grade when my Dad retired in 1966 at Scott AFB.
Then it was off to JAAP/APSA--an army ammo dump until 1974 when he got his 30 years.

My first recollection of Air Force life was at about 1958 when I was 5 or 6-YOA.
Dad was stationed in Morrocco at Ben Guerir AFB which is now being refitted for F-16s.

One big highlite was going into the fields surrounding our trailers After the Air Police would shoot the Bobcats every day and check 'em out.
Another pasttime was building rock forts and having rock fights--got a broken collarbone that way.
When we'd make our Sunday trip to Casablanca/Rabat?, we'd see Arabs sleeping on the side of the road in white gear.

Then the USA got kicked out in 1961 but I've always been unclear on that.
Better for us since we got Travis AFB which I loved until 1964 when it became the gateway to Hell.
Dad did several trips to Vietnam on TDY for supply and would escort fallen soldiers to their familes on the way back--he was never the same.

I'll look for you on SPY and love Science conspiracies.
And I'm a big Sports Betting guy and certainly believe "The Man" has his finger on that pulse.
The stuff on H[SUB]2[/SUB] is fascinating, especially the verifiable facts like the ancient geniuses such as Archimedes .

It's Obama's fault.

No, you are right because:

1. When this first started happening, some random dude in Walmart near the ammo section said that he heard it was for can recycling, so there is no need to listen to anybody else on this subject even though they have been studying all the evidence, because the random dude’s initial reaction is all you need.

2. There is no way the boxes ammo would come of the shelves that fast, so it had be pre-planned.

3. Cheney owned an recycling company at one time so he must be behind this because he is evil and all.

4. Anything Popular Mechanics says otherwise about this subject is wrong because the only publication that is credible is the Tin Foil Hat magazine.

:)

Now that's the spirit! :applaud

sounds like a great biz opportunity to get into the ammo biz! Unless the government restricts buying or is buying the rounds themselves you have nothing mark. last time I checked the government does not have the authority to restrict purchases.
