Although i have been aware of planet Eris aka 2003ub313, only a few short days ago did i learn of a theory based on probability and Pangea.
So here is the gist of it.
This 10th planet is said to be quite large. And it has a moon orbiting it the size of mars. Much debate is being said that this tenth planet has a very unusual orbit of the sun, and every 3500 years comes interestingly close to planet earth. Many of the scientists who support this theory also believe that this is the direct cause of ice ages and the initial breakup of Pangea (one original continent).
It gets more interesting when some theorys also claim that hundreds of millions of years ago, there was one continent and it was broke up by a collision of one Eris's moons.
Some scientists believe that there is a small yet devistating chance of this happening again in our lifetime.
The result could be earth being knocked off our current orbiting plan or earth being grabbed by Eris's gravity and drawn back in an orbit around the 10th planet itself. The size of this planet is unknown and quite disputed...
Any thoughts, info or theory's?
