NOT giving a :poop:.

Their main platform is anti-government. They've been losing that battle for a long time.

This part is from a reply in another thread: The problem with messaging when comparing the two dominant political parties isn't that Republicans do a better job of messaging, it's that Republicans do a "better" job of NOT giving a :poop:. It's like trying to "debate" with a 'troll' on DP. The Republican Party is essentially the Troll Party. Them being anti-government is their biggest trait. The government they do like is what makes them, corporations, and their culture war country club members money, power, or mad.

A little repetitive: You can try to reason with a 2A purist, or an anti-abortion zealot, or an anti-government Republican politician- if you've got nothing better to do. They're essentially trolls and the Republican Party is essentially the Troll Party. They're T**** trolls. T**** is their leader. It's probably best to just let the Troll Party wither away. Arguing with trolls and the Troll Party is what gives them legitimacy. That doesn't mean Republican policy pushes like trying to outlaw abortion shouldn't be broken- they should be. But it's a matter of how it's done. If one puts too much into counter-trolling, there are very high opportunity costs that are stalled. That leads to the Troll Party's main strategy: Stalling. They're Stallingesque, if you will.

The GOP have been anarchists since Reagan. They want you to elect them to govt, because they're anti-govt. Hence, they are anti-democracy. So, they make changes to voting law that is anti-democratic. Restricting voter rights. Not to worry, folks. We have the brave Dem/libs standing in the way of the Rep/cons assault on democracy. Makes you go right to sleep when your head hits the pillow at night.
